Good luck with this, is there a particular reason you're applying to Ireland or is this an absolute coincidence? If the latter, I think you may be destined for Ireland some day. But have you considered Scotland? I could help look after the chickens.
I've been in and out of free bingo all day and surprise, surprise, haven't won a single penny - yet again, again, again! How disheartening is that? I did consider I'd be better off looking for an extra day's work each week but I can't be unavailable for babysitting duties and the prospect of a frugal house project means that I'm counting on being able to work from home full time whilst DIY'ing. It's not that I want to be rich, far from it, it's just nice to think that luck can occasionally be on our side.
Bails, I got a PM sent off to you, I think

The stables are really quiet tonight! Has everyone given up on free bingo or is it that Marru and I are desperate for a win?I reserve the right not to spend.

Total coincidence about the jobs being in Ireland, but I had been considering moving over there, ever since my housemate in Lincoln from two years ago told me how much she'd enjoyed working there. It's just bizarre that the only two jobs I've seen advertised in Ireland that I'm qualified for happened to have been advertised within a few weeks of each other! All organised for flights, airport parking and hotel now. I'm going for nearly a week, my Dad's coming too and we're making a holiday of it. Now all I have to do is confess to my boss tomorrow...Live on £11k in 20110

GOOD LUCK!I need some good luck so if you find you have extra, please send some back this way - Free Bingo is doing my head in and rather than just shut it down, I keep going back to check 'just in case'. Thank goodness it doesn't cost anything, that's all I can say!

hmmm do you think I could manage a part time job when I go back to uni? I didn't think i could manage it until I heard about the perks of working in a certain sweedish store today!
apparently you get lovely free lunches when you pick the healthy options (or unhealthy options are about £1, bacon rolls at breakfast are about 25p), staff discount is huuuuge, and last christmas all the staff got digital cameras :smileyhea
Janey, what colour douvet did you get? I think you should post before and after pics of your bedroom makeover cos I am really nosey about things like that
....ahem and speaking of being nosey about things like that, nyk, I have been desperate to oggle 'the project' since you first mentioned it (hint hint )This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning frunchkins,
Not good news in this household, Bro has been given 3 months to live:mad:  There is no treatment they can give him as the cancer is so extensive and aggressive. We are having him home once he is stabilised on strong pain control and then me and mum will nurse him between us. It has been a bit of a surreal week here all round but now we are focussed on getting him home and making his remaining time with us painfree and full of love.
Work have been very supportive and will allow me to be quite flexible when needed, and We have had lots of support from everyone which has been much appreciated. I will still be lurking around challenge but may not post as much as life gets in the way.We are dealing with this by being positive, and taking stock of the good times.Bro was adopted when he was 10 so at least in the overall scheme of things he has had a family who loves him for the past 23 years rather than being a disabled child lost in the care system, and when the end comes he will be surrounded by his family rather than being in an institution. We are thankful for that.0 -
Sophiesmum,
So sorry to hear the news about your brother. You are so right to concentrate on the good times and to take time out to be with him and your family. It still gives me a lot of comfort to remember our family being together as we said 'farewell' to my grandad last year, and then my nan a few weeks later. They both died surrounded by all the people they loved, and I really feel that we couldn't have done any more to make the transition more loving or peaceful.
They are definitely 'somewhere' even now keeping tabs on us, as so many good things happened with our wedding planning that they can't have just 'disappeared'.
Hugs to you all.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Jumblebee you expect me to be able to put pics on the net  :rotfl:
You jest
I don't even do texts so what chance of uploading photos
The duvet cover has a taffeta band across it with iridescent greeny and lilacy bits on. The background colour is creamy. Pillowcases match.
sophiesmum I am so sorry that you are having such a sad time at the moment.

Sophiesmum, so sorry to read your sad news, you're right how important it is to be able to spend time with him now, we had 6 days with my Dad after a frantic dash to hospital (5 1/2 years ago)and although the end was so sad I'm really glad I managed to be there. And as you say, at least your brother had those years as part of what sounds to me like a very loving family.
My thoughts are with you all x0
