  • Just been catching up a bit, and have really noticed the drop out of people, much quieter on here.
I guess life is hectic for everyone as it is for me, and I hope people are managing to stay vaguely on track for the challenge..... (don't look at my signature please ;) )

Oi ! I said no peeking! lol

Marru - I can see the tiny, pale printed words! :rotfl: Toyboys, indeed! Have you considered that we just all look incredibly young for our ages and that it has to be something to do with the frugal lifestyles we all lead? :D This equates to umm... a newly qualified, Irish vet with a penchant for frugal 'older' women but they don't need to know how old until waaaaaaaaaaay down the line if they are like 25ish :rotfl:

    nyk, don't forget me!

my sig hasn't been updated for a while, i have been on my hols this week - i am still at home but i have been galavanting about eating out and going on outings so have spent millions! i will have to face up to how much i have spent soon through and rejig my budget

ahem i 'accidentally' bought yet another vintage dolls house from a car boot sale - it was made by a womans great granddad and it is made out of big corned beef tins! so it is really a frugal house, how could i resist?

the 4k challenge is about the cost of living, more so than being about how much we spend, so it doesn't count council tax, although I may incorporate this next year to make things simpler, nor does it count cars, holidays, socialising, entertainment, home decor or furnishings than absolute essentials.

Idiot me!! Why didn't I read the rules before taking part in this challenge??!!

Nyk, you may have to put my total down again! I have been including serious redecoration, all my going out (as my last hangover attests, this is quite frequent), eating out (lots of that too...) and presents for everyone. I haven't been including holidays, but I just thought I was sneakily cheating!! (No I did declare at the beginning I wouldn't count them as my family live abroad).

So anyway, I've got loads to take out. I will update my figures at some point over the weekend and update you on what i have really spent.

Sorry for being a fool. But very pleased I may be back on target!

    xx

Oh and what I really logged on to say was I have sold three of my ebay items! I think I'm addicted again. I love watching the totals go up, I just hate listing things sooooo much.

  • Thanks NYK

I definitely think you should try the chanting of wishes! Please could you wish for a lifetime supply of Ben & Jerry's icecream for me while you are at it...? !

Lyndasharp - It was your post that made me laugh when I read the cat had been sick under your bed! I couldn't help but wonder why you had a fellow frugaler hiding under there in the first place. :rotfl: I'm glad Betsy Belle is back on the road and I still think garage bills beat vets' bills, especially of the horse variety. :D

    :rotfl:
I do have a very frugal cat... my landlady pays for all her vet bills, and gives me wine, chocolates and last time some lovely balsamic vinegar, whenever I'm on cat sitting duty. Am very excited now as we should soon be getting another guinea pig and a couple of ex battery hens to add to the menagerie! Free eggs (from the hens, not the guinea pig) :j
