Good luck if you decide to answer - mind you, it was in the friendship section of personal ads many years ago that I met a friend, who later introduced me to husband-to-be MrEL, so who knows, eh ;)

Who knows indeed! Tell us more about him then Marru! :D

Sorry to hear about the bad end to your weekend Lynda, and the sad news about your boyfriend - you don't think you'll stay together then? Hope the car isn't too expensive
Busy busy day here - I've cleaned the freezer thoroughly (it was disgusting!) and have packed it with all our stuff from the other one, which is now defrosting. Blimey, this new one is noisy though - in the lounge at mo as only power source but will be moving it asap. Done the washing and popped to Marru's to finish the garden [Dad did it while we chatted :o] then been DIYing for the rest of the day. Very quiet night needed to recover.
Did you hear water prices are going to be the next increase?

I think I am going to leave it. I am so fussy, like I am some slim and gourgeous creature myself :o. I will get out more come September and meet more people so perhaps I stumble across the right one eventually.

Yes - I indeed have now two fairy godmothers. Bails got her OH to come and sort out my garden and today her dad came with the heavier machinery to finish it off. I can't believe that the jungle is gone!! I have promised free cat, guinea pig and dog sitting to last a lifetime as a thank you.

I managed to get that sample from my piggy boy (thanks to Bails' genius idea of instead keeping him sitting in a plastic bag, put him in a plastic box) and the surgery called and told me he has infection so I am now off to get the medication for him and then I will take The Dog for a proper walk.

Called and got service for my fridge/freezer sorted, it can take up to 24h before the service man contacts me. I think I will be very full tonight after eating everything I cooked from the defrosted stuff. Or The Dog will have a very delicious supper.

Off I go now... catch up with you later...

Nooooooo, I say go for it Marru! Who knows what might come of it? Some of my best friends met their loongterm partners through internet sites, this is no different.
Glad to hear piggy can be treated :T

Had the news from the garage earlier that Betsy's head gasket has given up. Estimated £250ish bill  It's quite a lot of labour involved, the gasket itself only costs a few pounds! She should be back up and running tomorrow though, so that will be good. Only plus point is I saved money on the petrol driving home, by doing most of the journey on a recovery truck...

No hangover today, absinth is pretty good for avoiding them. One of the housemates made me buttered crumpets and hot chocolate late last night, which probably helped too. Bails - bf still hasn't even texted to find out if I made it out of Milton Keynes last night, think that says it all really. I'd consider a long distance relationship like that if I knew the person I was dating really wanted to be with me, and I'm not convinced this guy does.

Pretty insensitive to tell you the news when you are stuck in Milton Keynes. His loss if you ask me. I think you are better off with crumpets and hot chocolate :T yum. Glad to hear that Betsy will recover soon, I think she is gorgeous.

Gosh, what a busy weekend you have all had! I only got home at dinner time tonight, so that's me just caught up.

Janey, I am glad your meal went well and that so much was donated to the animal charity, that's fantastic! Hope you're felling a bit better :)

Lynda - sorry to hear about the (ex)bf, how infuriating for you! I haven't a clue about who he is, but you were very patient tolerating his indecisions in the first place and I am sure the loss will be more his than yours. Glad to hear Betsy is on the mend - £250ish doesn't seem too bad when you compare it to what animal treatments cost at the vets.

Marru - hope piggy is improving and I can't believe you're considering another 2! :rotfl: You remind me of a friend who, funnily enough, met her hubby through the personal adds!

Sophiesmum I agree with Marru, you would make a fortune if you could sell your enthusiasm and energy! I'm always in awe of what you achieve in a day.

Bails - did you decide whether or not you're having the spiral staircase? Not so good for storing a spare freezer in the cupboard underneath, though. :D

Party weekend went well for us. It's about 200 miloes round trip. HS came with me and we took DGD in his car whilst DD and DS travelled in his. Gran hadn't a clue that all 5 generations were going to be there, so it was a complete surprise for her and she loved it! Photographre friend arrived and did family photos, which we managed to have taken outside in the garden. Can't wait to see them! Gran now has 3 grandchildren, 6 great grand children and 1 great, great, grand child, so it was a busy house. This was the first time ever that we have all been in the same place at the same time! :)

En route home, we called into Mr A, where I spent all of my august grocery budget plus some by falling for those precious little yellow stickers! :rotfl: My freezer is now filled with bread rolls (10p per 6 pack), beef stew, turkey fillets and turkey sausages plus I topped up the stockpile. In total, I have spent a £10 Asda voucher (spent on gifts), £26.54 on groceries & stockpile, 41p to replace my old whisk, £4.60 on an extra gift for family weekend and £17.20 on travel.

68.5% of my 2008 budget has gone but I'm still not going to worry about it as I'm sure I can bring this in on target. :D

Tomorrow morning, we are going to look at a "fixy up"! :j It may be a complete waste of time, as it's a bit of a major project to take on, but there's just something far too compelling about an old derelict building that's part of a conversion plan that could become our home if we can build a bridge over the river to reach it! I hope it doesn't rain too much tonight! Perhaps DS could trade in his car for a boat! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

PS: greet013.gifHere I am, Mumzy! I was posting at same time as you. I've been away since Saturday morning, home now.
