:hello: everyone. Had a bit of a spend on thursday, went shopping with a friend and got some new black skinny jeans and some ballet shoes. Both were which I needed! (yes, needed
) and then out on friday for a 21st, so its been a bit of a expensive weekend really. Ah well, I've been doing quite well recently
Janey, that amount is amazing, and its clear just how loved Tom was. xxBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Afternoon everyone! Isn't the weather odd?! Beautiful blue skies one minute and bucketing down the next! Luckily I went out early this morning for the rasberries and picked another kilo, all cleaned and in the freezer :T
Sorry to hear about your freezer too Marru, good job it's almost empty. Will email you about the other freezer.
I've also painted the fire surround I got recently, just needs another coat when it's dry, and OH and Dad have been busy working out which wall to knock down next [for that read Dad panicking the house will collapse and OH persuading him it's the most aesthetically pleasing option :rotfl:]. We're splitting off one of our bedrooms to create a hallway for the attic and we're going to have glass panelling behind the stairs up into the attic to make the ground floor stairs much lighter. At the moment the attic stairs are free standing so we've have to put a bit of plasterboard up where the glass will go to stop the cats falling through! We'd love the glass to be made by OH's step uncle as it would be amazing but out of our price range me thinks!
Right, need to clear up and organise getting these freezers so catch you all later. Enjoy the rest of the weekend xThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Good evening frunchkins:D
No Nyk today???
Marru if you haven't used the bread up already how about a bread and butter pudding, or blitz some in blender to make breadcrumbs and use for topping on gratins etc, will keep a while in a sealed container. or cut into small squares, fry until crispy, and make into croutons to add to soups or salads. If you fry them in garlic butter they are even yummier.
Bails - all the renovating and building work sounds exciting, I love getting involved in stuff like that, i miss knocking things down etc but it's a no go in a rented place:rolleyes:
slowlyfading - hope you enjoyed the shopping trip, necessary jeans and pumps are good for cheering you up when you have had a bad few days at work;)
Well I have had quite a relaxed day, have been to the gym twice today for a swim, sauna, and jacuzzi. Cooked tea for my oldies this afternoon but that is about all I have done today (marru we had rhubarb crumble:p )OH is working tonight so I may put a dvd on later and have some choc, I still have some unopened from xmas:o - I don't usually watch tv much at all- I'm always doing other stuff.
DS3 and his girlfriend are just visiting, and emptying the fridge as I type, Anyone remember Pacman well that is what DS3 is like with food, it always looks like a rugby team have been in fridge when he leaves. He is the most domesticated of my 4 though and cooks, cleans, washes , irons etc. He has just brought me a cuppa:D we are about to start negotiations on how much money he would like to borrow from me to fix his motorbike so he can use it for college in Sept - my ISA is cringing already:rotfl:0 -
Had a fab weekend until today. It stopped raining for the races, and Madness were great. Wedding car duties were fine, though it rained so there weren't too many photos taken outdoor with my car.
Left Cambridge for Swindon today at 3. Got back at 9. Spent about 3 hours broken down in Milton Keynes, they couldn't fix it, had to wait for a truck to take me back to here. Phoned bf while I was bored and waiting for the truck, he told me hes decided to move back to Ireland after Christmas. So, no bf, no car, all in one day. Car sounds very expensively broken, running on two cylinders for those of you who know anything about this stuff. Hope it's not new engine time. At least I have Mingles and Absinth, which is in fact all I've had since lunch, not really feeling like food right now. Wish I could swear on here, will settle for this instead: %$^&* *^Y&%^.Live on £11k in 20110 -

Mmmmmm - guess who is getting some garlic tomorrow?
My bean mess in SC turned out to be really nice. I served it with some noodles and there is plenty of left for my lunches and suppers for while to come, especially added with the baked fish.
I might have to take two more piggies. The flatmate of my poorly piggy goes from devoted loving friend into a bully in seconds. So they both need new friends. My poorly little piggy is now sitting here on my lap to get a bit of a breather from his naughty friend. So I am in a hunt for a big butchy boy and smaller gentle one. I really wasn't going to get more piggies as I am running out of space in my office.
I have listed 19 different job lots of books, 1262 books in total, into eBay today. Bails will be soooo proud. Seconds after I did my listings I had a watcher of one of the lots and now I got an enquiry from potential buyer who is interested in five of my lots. :T It won't be massive amount of money but as they say - every little helps.
Busy day tomorrow and also I am relly behind with my accounting work so better start thinking of going to bed.
Night night,
Marru

Sorry you have had a rough day lynda, sounds like BF has been putting you through a lot of strife lately. I suppose itis good that he has finally decided which direction to take, just not so good that it is to Ireland.
Hope the car doesn't turn out to be too expensive, sounds like a big job:eek:
In lieu of the day you have had I think you are entitled to a little swear;) , and Mingles are always a good idea when feeling p****d off, I have a box of Bendicks lined up for later:o my favourites:D for chilling out purposes only;)0 -
Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the hangover advice! Tried green tea, milk thistle, rich tea biscuits (suggested by a co-worker), and went home about 2 o'clock. There was no point in staying really as it was just an exercise in sitting at my desk trying not to throw up, and running to the ladies to throw up. The train ride home was a bit scary though...!
Anyway, took it as a half day holiday, so didn't feel too guilty as I settled on the sofa to watch the olympics opening ceremony. It was brilliant! I slept through some of it, which did make me feel better. I didn't throw up again once I was home though, but I did still feel terribly sick.
Much better on Saturday, though had a girly night in with some friends and couldn't face a single sip of wine! I was the one laughing on Sunday morning when they all had sore heads though.
Lynda, really sorry to hear about your bad day - it never rains but it pours (quite literally from the sound of the weather). Hope you don't have a hangover from hell today but if you do I can recommend sleep, water and rich tea.
Janey, sounds like the dinner party was roaring success, well done. And brilliant news about the donations to the animal shelter, I'm sure they will appreciate that very much.
Have a nice day everyone. Although I'm now sitting here fretting that my freezer will pack in and I'll lose everything!

Instead of working I am reading personal notices on free paper that I got hold of today.
Can anyone tell me what WLTM means? They pretty much all have it and I can't figure out what it is.
