I work from home and my job is...?

Options
I don't really, strictly an office dweller - but there are lots of requests from people looking to earn enough income from working at home to live on.

So I thought it might be nice to have a thread that listed some of the jobs people do from home that earn a regular income, and possibly some that are more towards the pocket money/income boost level, maybe even if you have any ideas as to what you would do if you were working at home...

If I was working at home, I have a background and some qualifications in finance so if I was going to work from home I might look at book-keeping, small business advice, possibly some sort of consulting.

Anymore for anymore?

I'm trained in alternative therapies, which could be done from home if you have space, but I live in a shared flat.

I don't earn enough from home to live on yet but I have some websites that earn me money. I use Google Ads and affiliate marketing to boost my income. I earn £100+ per month for a few hours work. It has to be declared on a tax return of course.

I run therapies and let people try out a machine I sell. This is in addition to my work outside the home.

My background is as a legal secretary but left when I had our first child and have worked from home ever since. He is now a strapping 20 year old !
best thing I ever did and although the money was a struggle at first we managed.Hubby works full time and helps me in my work at home.

I now sell high quality fragrances at very affordable prices and also help others do the same. I can honestly say that of all the differnt things I have tried throughout the years this is by far the best and most rewarding.

I'm a 'virtual receptionist' with a company who deals with appointment bookings for complimentary healthcare clinics. I do 4 four hour shifts a week and simply have to take calls and enter appointments on a internet based booking facility :) Pays quite well and I can stay in my pyjamas :D
Still trying to find my way around the forum... :)

I used to work in an office as an Admin Manager, but when I had my little girl 3 years ago, decided I wanted to work from home. Best thing I ever did!!

I now sell well known childrens' books which benefits me financially and socially, and benefits my daughter hugely!

  • I audio type from home (as well as being an impoverished musician). I made most of my contacts from temping for them first, proving I was able and trustworthy, and then going freelance and working from home - a financial win all round!

I also do Slice the Pie for extras, mySearch Funds (which I do when watching the news or Question Time - if I want to know more, I search!), OnePoll (which seems to be dying...I do hope not), and Lightspeed (which is good for a fiver a month at least).

Always looking for other things to do. :)

I work as a mystery shopper and some mystery shopping companies have phone surveys. I was earning a fairly regular income of £200pw but the surveys had dried up recently and would love to know about other work I can do from home. At aged 57 and disabled I would be grateful of any sedentary work.

I also use mySearchfunds and do online surveys for itsmyview. Then, there always ways to earn a few pounds signing up for offers via Quidco.

I am also looking at ways to get income from International Premium Rate Numbers, as some of these provide a greater income than it would cost me to call them! But I think there may be a few legal issues with this idea!
