are these survey sites worth it?(merged)

I love the types of surveys which ask if you plan to buy household goods within the next year, I'm sure I'm not the only person whom only thinks about replacing a fridge/cooker/microwave/washing machine when it breaks down.0

Totally agree! Though I do know someone (who had more money then sense) she did up the families kitchen, it looked really pretty and homely. It was just 2 years old when we visited, she wanted a new one. New fridge and various other white goods were bought especially. Just shocks me because if anything breaks for me I can't afford to replace it. I already have lost my TV this year and cannot afford another so don't own one.0 -

If you have a freecycle in your area they often have second hand tv's being given away as so many people are getting rid of the CRT type to replace with the slim tv ones. If you are missing your tv its worth a look anyway.Thanx

Thanks, but I gave up with that a while ago. I'd asked for a TV and nothing. Then my freecycle became a Freegan and they asked for money for anything on offer.
A kind couple actually bought a TV for me and bought it over (I can't lift things due to injuries/health issues) but the TV they bought over was not working properly- the screen had turned yellow and the sound was muffled. I've got a feeling the TV must have belonged to a smoker. I felt so bad for the couple and knowing all the TVs (CRT are the only on offer as far as I can see) all ask for money that I just go without now.
I am also finding things a huge struggle now financially and woudn't be able to afford the license. There are many things I go without that others seem have that its just another thing on the list (I don't have a mobile, I don't have an oven or a dishwasher or a stove or a shower or a playstation/wii/whatever they're called and countless other things) its just one of those things you get used to and its not so bad once you get used to it and hey, its one less thing to worry about in relation to the utility bills!0 -
Vivatic surveys have suddenly dropped from 85p and £1 to 50p.
They were at the higher rate this morning, as I had 85p added after a survey. Now they're all 50p, with no corresponding reduction in length of survey! Hope this is temporary.0 -

Oh dear, that's not good. They will be off the survey list if that is permanent. I think this could be the ongoing sign of decline with Vivatic though - the change in payment schedules, the SSI surveys vanishing then coming back at 50p instead of the 85p they used to be, writing jobs having become non existant0

Just noticed the reduction in survey payments myself. Was going to e.mail them to ask who was getting greedy but as is so often the case with these sites there is no e.mail contact address. I'm currently at £8.50 so there's still a way to go but when I reach my £25 it's goodbye Vivatic. To just reduce the payment amount without explanation is unnaceptable. This was one of the better sites out there but they're fast becoming as bad as the likes of Toluna etc.0

I have just spent about an hour doing the first part of survey B45126.
I don't remember reading in the blurb that you could be screened out after this first survey without reward - but I do tend to scan their comments.
Looks like I have received entry into the prize draw - what a waste of my time.
Perhaps if anyone else receives this survey they would be kind enough to post what the beginning statement is so that I know if I missed something or not.
I have already sent them a message telling them what I think!!0
