Aw Jen, bad luck on the ebay stuff. Is that your first time selling on ebay? I was like that to start with, got off to a really slow start and was very disappointed for a few weeks, but eventually started getting better results. Hope it's just a one off and that you get some better results next time.
How did the food foraging trip go? Not completely sure I know what's involved in that, but it sounds like fun, hope you enjoyed yourselves.Hey Guys,
I can't believe that we're on page 5 already and it's twenty minutes before the thread is due to officially begin!
I've had a very quiet weekend really, enjoyed the footie tonight and also spent a few hours over weekend keeping on top of chores so a new weeks flying can get off to a...well....flying start!
I had two big disappointments today
1) Forgot to turn heat down on a simmering lentil and bacon soup...resulting in clouds of black smoke filling the house and a burnt dinner
2) Results of my ebay labours finished this evening, 7 items closing only 3 sold making a grand total of £3.97. I spent ages doing great ads and chose appropriate times, but it was a dismal response that didn't even match up to my skeptical expectations. My wedding shoes went for 99p. I gambled on setting a low bidding and no reserve to start a price war that just never happened. Completely Gutted
However, you live you learn and sometimes the only way to deal with that 'why did I bother getting out of bed today?' feeling is to just have a good old giggle. Me and hubbie have been salvaging the day from the clutches of disappointment by baking a yummy cake and drinking a bottle of red wine. We have watched footie and eaten our weight in weetabix loaf and are both feeling better.
Anyhoo, I haven't even looked at mondays list, I won't be doing any flying in the morning as the weather forcast is good so me and hubbie off on a food foraging trip. We are both enthusiastic novices and armed with many field guides and piccies from internet will try not to poison selves....although if todays luck continues :rotfl:
In the afternoon I will have a look at the list and try to catch up with everybody's news....probably on page 20 by then!
Hope you have all had lovely weekends. Hugs and solidarity to those who need em, and :T to those of you who've had fun, productive weekends.
See y'all tomorrow,

Never got the the kitchen today - good job too as bottling champagne was a sticky business - have wiped the floor and cleaned up the mess.
Working tomorrow am but I did the bathroom on Sunday so will get away with a S&S in there. Another busy day with swimming and haircuts so not sure how far I'll get.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Well, I watered the garden, did the dog poop sweep, found enough rubbish to fill my bin (it's bin day tomorrow) and as nice neighbour's is nearly empty (I phoned first for her OK) I bagged up some old paint pots that were lying around the garden storage and disposed of them too (some?! about 7 actually and there's a couple more to go in next week's bin).
Watched Inn of the Sixth Happiness in between pottering in garden and prepping dinner. One of my favourite films which has one of my favourite quotes:
"You are an interfering woman!"
"You have to interfere with what is wrong to make it right"
Then caught the back end of Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe - another of my all time favourites.
And now I really am off to bed - I am soooo tired, I'm surprised my head is not hitting the keyboard and punching out a random series of characters.

Argh    so mad, just spent aggggges typing out a message with all what I've done today and I lost it when I tried to post it grrrrrrrr
I'm not gonna re-type it all, can't remember it lol
I've got the health visitor coming first thing tomorrow to talk about DS's anger and violence. Not actually sure what I'm going to say to her. The problem's been going on for over a year now, but I've been dealing with it on my own up until now. He's got really bad the last couple of months though, beating up DD2 all the time and she's only 9 months. I used to be good at staying calm and dealing with it that way, but now I feel like all I do is shout at him and I've smacked him a few times too which I said I would NEVER do and I know it wont do any good, in fact if anything it's probably making him worse because I'm smacking him for smacking his sister!!! How confusing is that for a 4 year old?!? He just wont listen though, and I really mean he wont listen. If you try and talk to him (not just about this but anything serious) he starts mucking around, changing the subject and trying to distract me. Anyway, sorry everyone, rant over, it's just really getting to me just now. But hopefully the health visitor will be able to help and offer some advice to get it sorted before he starts school in August.
Back to the point of the thread..... I got loads done today, downstairs is gleaming ready for the hv tomorrow.
Now that I've done what NEEDS to be done, I'll follow the lists for the rest of the week I think.
I'm just off to check tomorrows list, will add in my extras and post in a mo.
Good luck for tomorrow everyoneStarted comping 29/10/2010

Mad, mad day. DD in school for her induction week, and I was working - arrived at garden, opened boot, to find I'd left spade, boots and gardening bag in front of the garage at home.:eek:Fortunately, the woman I work for is also a friend, so managed to find me socks, boots, gloves and tools, so I didn't have to waste an hour going back home to collect them.
Fine minute late lunch, then raced downtown to buy a pair of black linen trousers for work tomorrow as the forecast is for hot sunshine, and my other trousers are synthetic and too sticky for hot days. Then picked up DD, straight to Primark for a bag - and all the other stuff she just had to have while she was there. Home via school to collect DS2 from cricket, then made dinner, washed up, put in another load of washing, and one load in tumbler, off to Sainsbury's to buy bread and a few other bits, and finally got to collapse with a cup of tea at 8.30pm.
So have I done the kitchen??? No!! And now I'm going to bed.
Tinselfairy - lovely to see you back, and huge congratulations on your new addition to the family!
likklegibbon - hi! Did you have a good holiday?
lil_me - Lovely news about your holiday!
lizzie dripping - well done to your OH - enjoy!
AnW's mum :hello:
And hi to all the newbies! I'm another non-ironer. DD wanted to iron all her linen trousers and shorts tonight, and we had to ask OH how to use the iron... I just shake everything from the tumbler and fol before airing. T shirts are shaken from the washing machine and dried over radiators, chair backs (don't have an airer). I learned years ago that denim creases drop out when you wear it, and I live in linen in the summer as it always looks creased whether you iron it or not. Iron bedclothes?:eek:It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -

I haven't caught up with the thread yet 'cos I only just put the computer on! Not like me at all...
Anyway.
I did all the kitchen properly this morning and I damp wiped the living room and vacuumed right through downstairs and did the stairs too.
Spent a couple of hours on the garden, cutting the grass back and front and generally cutting stuff back and tying stuff up.
Dried a load of washing.
Read my book (one chapter left).
Went to work.
See you tomorrow
PS I Frontlined the cats and dog too. Forgot about that earlier.0 -
cookie - do you have any other children? It sounds like he wants attention from you and not share it with his sister. If he misbehaves, then he gets attention. The trick is to reward the desirable behaivour, and try to ignore the undesirable - and that is just so easy to say and so hard to do!It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0
