Just had an email from my local council AFP will be paid into my account within 3 day - result. Thought I was going to have to fight my corner.Lisa_mj said:
Sorry to hear this, very frustrating, not acceptable that you've been waiting so long. Maybe try the helpline again (hopefully it's still being manned) and make a formal complaint like Burbage_Fox. Good luck!y-o-r-k-y said:
Still not got mine. Did enquire again last week but just fobbed off with council back log excuse. They have not even confirmed weather I've qualified.Burbage_Fox_2 said:Finally had confirmation that my AFP will be in my bank in 5 days.Odd how I raised a formal complaint the same day.Maybe a coincidence !1 -

I've had absolutely zero luck with the AFP process. It never got paid into my account via Octopus and they say they need to get notification from the government to pay me (despite me being on the list to be paid). I've contacted the AFP and BEIS and both keep pointing me back to Octopus saying they need to pay it. Octopus then tell me to speak to the government. It's a nightmare that it should be this painful for people to get this.1

Very frustrating and you're right, it shouldn't be so difficult to get something you are entitled to. My understanding is that it is the (ie your) local council that have to confirm your eligibility to Octopus so this could be the missing piece of the jigsaw. Neither the government or Octopus have proof that you're off grid, only the local council. I guess they're the only organisation with the right data to prove it.CircuitW1zard said:I've had absolutely zero luck with the AFP process. If you can show them proof you are on the lsit to be paid, how can they refuse? If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..1 -
My £200 credit to my bank account came from my council rather than my electricity supplier (Octopus)JerryW said:Lisa_mj said:

just renewing and obtained 4 prices -jamesg123 said:Hi anyone renewed 2yr bulk lpg recently interested in deals out there right now. thanks
localish company 50pl y1, no fix yr 2 - we're just outside of their area but they kindly gave me a price for comparison
Flogas 50ppl +6p cap yr 2
Calor 48ppl, cap 3.5 p per quarter in y2
Avanti 46ppl, cap 10ppl y2
had problems switching to Avanti so now trying Calor. Avanti were difficult to deal with, so far Calor have been good but it's early days.
Flogas have been really bad and still owe me £75+vat that we were over charged. Wouldn't go with them again unless was absolutely forced to.

Beware of the caps though - all this means (in Calor's case at least) is that if they do put the price up by more than the cap they have broken the contract and you are free to leave for another supplier - which Calor did to us by 15 ppl in April 2022 and 12ppl in September - this of course at the time when most other companies new contract prices had shot up enormously and/or were not taking on new customers... And we weren't free to switch to another company as our tank is in a site which is non-compliant with current regulations, despite having been replaced by Calor with a new one earlier in the year on the site of the original ... but that's another story...
