Artisan bread is used with plain flour, no kneading required, it will work, honest! Be confident.
I have posted a picture on this thread somewhere of my bread made with plain flour. Nice and risen and great texture and not around very long when OH and kids got a hold of it

I have now read all 24 pages! It has been "rising" for an hour but doesn't seem to have risen at all. When i make dough in the BM and bake in the oven it always seems a little heavy or something, so i will maintain my scepticalness . FIngers crossed. Seen some lovely pics in here so I'm sure it will work out fine! :o

Going to pop in the fridge before baking as seems to be the general consensus that it is better that way.

Very shocked to see the book on ebay for over twenty quid

Good luck and fingers crossed for you zippychick, stick the dough in a warm place and it will rise, give it 2 hours altogether before you stick it in the fridge.

Nom nom nom nom nom nom nom. Too cool for school. Gorgeous , light, crispy, YUM! ARRRRGGGH! Now what happens to my diet?!

Going to buy the book as soon as i can! I could today but it would put my bank account into my overdraft so being sensible, and waiting until money is there to cover it. Sensible me! woooO!

    Nom nom nom nom nom.

zippychick - I bought the book from the american amazon at the time. They have it new for USD 16.77 at the moment, which is just under 11 pounds. Even with the shipping costs that should be less than the ebay one.

Thanks Champys, I checked PLay.com ebay and amazon and play is the cheapest at £13.49 with free p and p! I was just shocked it was being sold for much more!

I put it on greseproof paper and it stuck badly even though I had dusted it with flour. Maybe will grease it next time. I only made half a batch of dough, but I am loving the cinnamon bites and cheesy baps etc!

I am so impatient to get the book, just have to stop my finger pressing "buy". Eek, just seen on play it says usualy dispatched in 6-8 weeks!

Amazon says it is in stock and is same price as Play (£13.49 free super saver delivery)

No cashback on amazon but if you go via these links 5% of the sale price goes to the charity at no extra cost to you:
