I am going to give this a go when we get all the stuff tomorrow.
I am going to use the salad draw in the fridge to store the dough as it wont take up any extra room in the fridge.
Lets hope I have some luck with it!JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -
i'm going to give this a go, but (i may be stupid) i can't see the actual recipe on the site linked to in the first post...please can someone post / pm me with it?

thanks perrywinkle.
Have halved the recipe and given it a go, using 1x7g packet yeast. though having read Nicki's comment above I may've added too much flour as i dipped the measure into the bag... will see what happens!
i have a 1lb loaf tin so i might try cooking one in there as its more useful to us if we can toast it.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
I did this once with plain white flour and it was a disaster.
No idea what went wrong, as I followed the recipe I was given.
Was I using the wrong type of flour?
Could the flour have been stale???
Maybe the actual recipe I got was wrong?GC March Wk1 £28.72/£30 Wk2 £28.4/£29

It is plain flour that is used in the original recipe. If you want the recipe again to try it again, I will pm you. I have made a beautiful loaf today using some Oatmill white bread flour and plain white flour and some rolls to go with my hm chicken noodle soup. And brioche as well. It really is easy to do if you stick with the quantities. Just ask if you have more questions..0 -
I have a couple of rolls in the oven right now!!!
I cant wait.
When I made the dough I put it in the fridge and when I got home a little while ago it had doubled in size.
I hope these rolls turn out well :-D
Ok well they are done.
I only waited 20 mins before putting them in the oven.
But they are lovely came out really well. Rather a lot of flour on them, I will have to work out how to get them onto the baking tray without the 2 tonnes of flour so they dont stick to my hands :-)
They tasted lovely. bit like cibatta. Going to try a loaf when we have eaten the tiger bread that we bought today.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -
done my first loaf and quite pleased with it. think i used more than half the dough but not worried about that (i did a half quantity to start with). when I came back to it having left it to rise before putting in the oven it had spread so i kind of pushed it back together and stuck it on the tray, rose more in the oven and I've already eaten a good slice or three and am about to have a sandwich with some more of it!
only a bit of dough left now so am going to make up another batch this aft, need a bigger container though.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
this evening's attempt was not so good. think i killed the yeast as i accidentally used very hot water (grabbed the kettle but forgot it had just boiled...) so after it hadn't risen i tried remixing with another pack of yeast....doubt it will be much good but worth a try...Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

My bread is really nice but its just a bit dense. Bit doughie. Not sure if there is an easy way to make it lighter.
Also going to try doing pizza tomorrow. has anyone does this? is it just a case of rolling it out and then putting it strait in the oven?JeremyMarried 9th May 20090
