Thanks to Fivenations and Whatatwit for the advice about the yeast. I haven't got a Waitrose near me but I have just ordered a Remoska from Lakeland so I'll email them to see if they can add some Dove's yeast to the order before they dispatch it!

Justamum - that's a fantastic price - I'll be getting my flour from Mr T's from now on! I thought the Co-op was cheap!

Great video, Flourgirl - watching it really does highlight how easy the whole process is. I've bookmarked it for future reference; just need to find a decent sized bowl now.

Can anyone tell me exactly what 'all purpose' flour is, please? I have stocks of bread flour as well as plain and self-raising flour; hopefully, it's one of these!

I've been buying it from Tesco's recently. It started off at 90p a bag, and has been coming down and last time it was 75p a bag.

Bought some for 70p in Tesco this week :j....my local health food shop sells it for £1.67:eek:. Just goes to show how great their buying power is....

Appologies I have had to edit the first post to remove the recipe, you can still find it at: http://www.artisanbreadinfive.com/
Also apologies that I have not been around, but npsmama you seem to be a bread baking pro!
I ill try to answer the qestions I can still see un-answered:

Bowl size- The recipe can easily be doubled or halved, I usually halve the recipe making it more managable to fit amidst the food in thefridge. I brought the largest rectangular tesco value lunchbox~70p Which holds 8pints, so has plently room even after the dough has doubled.

Flour types: I have made the basic recipe using bread flour, plain flour and wholemeal flour and it has turned out brilliant every time. My favorite combo is 1/3 wholemeal 2/3 white bread flour.

Yeast: Brilliant tips on which yeast is most cost effective everybody, I usually use 1 sachet if im making the recipe halved, i think you can get 12 sachets in tesco for ~70p.

Cooking naan & pita: I made naan bread last night, you roll out the dough to around 1/8. melt sme butter in your rying pan, add the dough and cover, i use foil, to trap the steam and cook for ~6mins. For the pitas you pop them in the oven.

Oven temps & timing: Basic dough in a loaf pan bakes at 230c for 35mins. In the book there are lots of tips on how to achieve a crust etc that are brilliant.

    Flourgirl: brilliant youtube link!

I dont think I would be able to post the brioche recipe as I have been asked to remove the beasic revipe and only proide the link, however this method is very similar to no-knead bread so theremay be other recipes on the internet if you did no want to by the book. Sorry!

Im so glad everybody is as excited about this method as I am!

Thanks for answering my questions Greenman ;) I like to make my kneaded bread with a third wholemeal and two thirds white too.

Regarding posting recipes from other sources -my understanding is that you are breaching copyright if you simply copy and paste someone else's words from a book or website. However, if you write out the recipe and method using your own words and say who's recipe it is and where you got it from then that's OK.

Thank for the thread posting tips thriftlady, Its abit confusing to know where you stand with copyright. I hope everybody can enjoy the recipies as they really are time saving!
Thinking pizza for tea, the boyfriend loves dominos takeaway (usually spending atleast £10 a time:eek: ) however now I have the dough in the fridge, his favorite pizza can be ready in 9minutes beating any takeaway!

The only thing I hate doing is getting the yeast from the little sachets into the tiny measuring spoons and have often wondered if I could empty them all into one container.

I get yeast in airtight 250g tubs from the healthfood shop and keep it in the freezer (no need to defrost, just use straight from the tub.) Costs £2.99

Thank you GreenManGo for the above links, I have added them to my favourites along with this thread for future reference. When I asked for the recipie I did wonder about the copyright issue, so thanks to thriftlady for explaining about that.

Glad you have enjoyed watching the video, it just shows how easy it is to make. It's on my list of things to bake this week, especially the caramel thingy!!
