To answer a few questions:
- i use my Kenwood Chef bowls with a shower cap on top.
:T :T :A Eureka! You've made my day with this tip. I too use my Kenwood and would never have thought of doing this. I normally use a damp tea towel or oiled clingfilm. A shower cap makes sooooooo much sense.
I can't tell you how delighted I am with this:T Thank You.

I'm kicking myself now for not thinking about using a shower cap! What a brilliant idea. I can tell this is going to be a great thread. The invitation from Npsmamma to ask questions is going to be irresistible! I bought my first breadmaker last year - it's my proud boast that it cost me £7, unused, from a charity shop, and I am delighted with it. I haven't bought bread from a shop since then. The favourite loaf in this house is one taken from a recipe for soft rolls; I make two loaves from that by letting the machine make the dough, then I leave it to rise, shape the loaves (they look VERY rustic!) and bake them in the oven. The bread is delicious. At the moment, I am costing it at 16p per loaf but my supermarket, the Co-op, has not increased the price of Dove's organic bread flour for ages. I pay £1.23 a bag but I've seen it elsewhere at £1.68 so that's quite a saving. I use two thirds white flour and one third wholemeal.
The only thing I hate doing is getting the yeast from the little sachets into the tiny measuring spoons and have often wondered if I could empty them all into one container. I'd be very grateful if someone could help me with that one. I waste such a lot the way I do it.
Thanks to GreenManGo for starting such a great thread!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Doves sell a pack of quick yeast that works really well - no sachets to cut open. I tip the contents into a jar and keep in the fridge. Last time I bought it it cost 99p. I buy mine from Waitrose and yu cana slo get it from Lakeland.NSD 0/150 -
Sounds wonderful!
I don't have a Kenwood Chef, only an FP108, so am trying to find a decent enough bowl... perhaps a regular mixing bowl or is that too small?

I'm going to be cheeky and ask is it possible for you to post the brioche recipe pleeeease?
Just had a quick look at the above web site and can't find it anywhere, but the apricot and vanilla cream brioche look delish.
I can feel the diet going straight out of the window.....

Thanks Flourgirl for the YouTube link....that shows just how easy it is.
Mioliere.....I had some of the sachets, I opened them all and poured into a little tub, that now lives in my fridge. The Doves Farm brick (orange) is good also.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
