Nice shiney new month and hopeful new budget!
Had to spend £6.56 today on milk, rolls and other basics but really don't need to spend anything then until the wekend,so really really hoping I can keep to £180 this month-I have loads of toilet rolls and cleaning stuff, toiletries etc so it is only food and cat food.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0 -
Total spend for me today £24.67, needed to stock up on a few things.
Should be doing my big shop t'moro, so must remember to do a full inventory of the cupboards and make a meal plan to last the month.
Ventured into Aldi today, I've always bypassed Aldi to go to Asda, big mistake as I always spend too much, so from now on if I only need a few bits I will go to Aldi.
I use the Surf Small and Mighty concentrate for my washing which costs about £3 in Asda, but have found a shop in town which sells it for £2, I know I could buy own brand which would be a lot cheaper but I love Surf
I'm really looking forward to this challenge.:j Bankrupt 6th October 2009 :j:beer: To a Debt-free Future :beer:0 -
Hey, just spent £54 in Mr t but the bill was £62 before I used some coupons and NOTW voucher so that was good :T
It did also include a £3.75 tennis set for the kids
naughty naughty but my 4 year is so good I am hoping he will be the next star and so can look after me when he has made it big

Going to try and get some hob nobs made tomorrow and a few shepherds pies (but with sliced new potatoes on top as they were on offer!) to freeze, we already make bread and yoghurt so I am half way there :rolleyes:Sealed pot Member target £200 - No. 151

Kind of following on from before.
I read that lots of you manage to use lots of coupons at each shop. Our T used to do this and Mr A used to let you have 10% of your bill. Now Mr A only lets you have what you've bought (self scan coupon things blocked off and you have to call an assistant). My local Mr T lets you have one 'freebie' coupon per shop (so I keep all mine in date order in my purse to make sure I use them before they go o-o-d, as they check each one carefully. Self scan only lets you have one too. The bigger Mr T in town doesn't let you have any. I don't think Mr S does either - so I don't have many opportunities to use them :-( And the cashier at my local Mr T today said she thinks they might bring in the same rule (ie no 'freebie' coupons - purchases you haven't actually bought) soon too - apparently some companies have queried volume of coupons taken in to products sold.:(
Does anyone else have restrictions in their supermarkets? We have a Mr M t'other side of town, but I never go there and have no idea on their policy.
We have 2 Sainsburys and 2 Tescos local to us and none of them will take vouchers for anything we haven't actually bought.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0 -

Hi,
a NSD for me - third in a row. Hope to keep it up but will probably have to shop on Thursday.
Happy money-saving everyone

Just costed my china chilo.
£2.15 for pound of lamb mince (been in freezer for ages). £3.18 for fresh peas (but only two pods couldn't be used). £1.07 for lettuce and spring onions. Plus huge scoop of butter.
:eek::eek::eek::eek:
I'll be doing it again at least twice this summer - it's our favourite dish because it says summer is here, it really needs fresh peas. However I think I will try and get a better deal on the ingredients.
Don't think I'll hit the challenge this month, but if I can do it, I will, and the more I try the less I will spend.Always another chapter0 -
Where does everyone get there coupons from? i can never find them
i usually find them in newspapers....check the newspaper summary every day on the discount codes and vouchers board for them. i also find them in magazines sometimes, and i think some people download/print them off coupon net, but my printer's not very good so i can't do them
