    Hi

This months total came to £165.06. Will be trying for £150 again for August.

Well done to those who made their target (or who just saved on what they would usually spend! - I know I have :)

Wow........... what a site, just back from holiday, needing to save money everywhere and decided to start with the food. I am ashamed to say after looking through this site that i spend approx £130 a week on 2 adults, 13 and 8 year old. I have taken steps to reduce this now, but omg you guys are brill.
My grand plan is as follows, ordererd for home delivery basic ingredients for meals, going to bulk buy meat, mince :o chicken etc and cook meals to freeze. My downfall is my lack of imagination on the food front, any receipe ideas, words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. time is also a big factor in our household so it has to be quick and more importantly easy..:o

I hope my spend to be £400 for this month, and hopefully reduce it each further month. HELP..............

The best £9.99 I ever spent was on an Easycook subscription. I have every copy from when it started and now have a lovely collection of mags with quick and easy recipes
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
  • Well didn't make target this month so must try harder next month. Especially as we're going on holiday for two weeks so can definitely cut the budget there! Came in on £458 and target was £350:o .......

OH well, I'm off to the August board now!

Well I have had a terrible month, I am declaring it at £320 as I lost track of some odds and sodds, so hopefully I am overestimating at the moment. Was a bad month for me all around, what with my purse/etc being stolen. I think that with the babies growing, and the mothers not being very MSe and using Jars, I am unlikely to get August into the same kind of figures again, so I will Aim for £300 for august.
    Try a bit harder.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
