Hello again
We've been in France over the last three weeks and I have to confess that I haven't kept up with all the posts while we've been away. The connection over there is soooooo slow that it would take me all day and cost a fortune as we only have dial-up!!!
There is just so much to catch up on - it will take me a day or two!!
Firstly, and rather late, my thoughts are with Mrs M. Life can be so tough sometimes.
Have to declare £402.72 for July - so £47.28 under budget!! :T
I'm quite pleased as this was my first month on the challenge. My total includes everything I buy at the supermarket, so cleaning products, the odd magazine etc....
I should like to aim for £400 for August please.
I have my grandson staying for a week so will probably spend a bit more then but I've got quite a lot stashed away in the freezer so hopefully this will cancel out.
I daren't stop the challenge now as I should definitely overspend. This thread is wonderful for keeping me on the straight and narrow! Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful recipes and ideas. I couldn't do it without you all. Hugs to everyone.:grouphug:0 -

Going to have a go at this I am going to have a budget of £350 for the month for ALL spending other than the usual direct debits etc , the only difference I will have to take into account is DS2's birthday next Saturday so will not count that. I work my budgets from a Friday to a Thursday night so have five fridays to contend with making it a £70 a week budget. Going to keep Tesco to about £40 (remembering money off vouchers etc for approx £7 per week), bakers £4.00, Butchers £10 this leaves £15 for incidentals during the week. I will empty my purse tomorrow night of all money and draw the £70 first thing on Friday morning. Here goes!!!!!!Every days a School day!0

hi everyone, declare at £328.78, over my £300 budget...
but happy with that for a first attempt, much better than the £400 or so i was spending, plus ive got loads of 'stock' building up.We cannot change anything unless we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses. Carl Jung

Last day of July!!!
I'm going to make it, I'm going to make it, I'm going to make it!
Just over 12 more hours to go and I haven't gone over the budget, I've refused to buy a single item all week and I even had powdered milk on my Mr T saver wheat biscuits yesterday morning. Bleugh to mixed up milk on cereal, but Mr T 'wheat biscuits' are actually quite similar tasting to a well known brand of organic breakfast cereals. I was quite surprised by that! Anyway, it all means that I can go shopping this weekend and see how far I can make August's £40 stretch. I'll also need to do a store cupboard inventory so I don't end up buying stuff that isn't really needed. I'll [STRIKE]try to[/STRIKE] do that this afternoon.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
