mornin all
can't see the sun here, you guys must have it all cos it looks like rain again here
got the fridge repair man coming early this morning so i'll have to make sure the kitchen's tidy....i hate seeing pots lying about, especially if someone's coming!
about to put the BM on as well............DS15's broken up for the hols now, so it'll be on at least once a day now, as he can eat 6 rolls a day!!
orkneystar if Ruby's pregnant, apparently you can't tell till just a couple of weeks before she has the pups because she's only a tiny little thing herself...she'll probably only have 1 or 2, but i'm still excited! i'm trying not to be, but i know i'll be disappointed if she hasn't fallen
off to my gran's in a bit to see to her/do her housework etc then its back home to that flippin pile of ironing that keeps looking at me every time i walk in the room!!
if i get chance to go out today, it should only be a little spend as we only need toilet rolls, so i'll have to be strict with myself and only take enough money out for them!!
hope everyone has a good day (((hugs))) to those that want or need one xx0 -
I'd recommend borrowing the books from a library first to see if you would really get any value from them before splurging. I search books mentioned on here at my library online and reserve them that way. Its just my opinion but many of the books for me only have 1 or 2 recipes that I might be interested in so aren't worth the cost of buying. Many of the other recipes or tips are already shared in some format on here. Try your library and save the cash.Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000

another NSD day today that makes 7 this month !! Yipee.
getting board of sloppy food, spag bol casseroles etc.
ive been given loads of courgettes, any ideas what i can do with them?
also some sort of veg i dont recognise, white shaped likes a ball????? with leaves out of the top like a carrot.
thanks karen
Might it be a turnip/swede of sorts ?
Not very nice here today although its meant to brighten up later.
Yesterday got all my washing, which was 99% dry, wet again when rain started quite heavily form nowhere!
Last nights bread was made into rolls at second proving stage- turned out kind of continental type- crusty top. First time using the active yeast from the tin- was fun watching it bubble, much more exciting than the other stuff!
Ok, hope you all have a nice MS day. We are aiming for a NSD :money: today and will maybe go a wee walk to the park and knit while DS naps.

What do you mean by pin money??
Is it the money you save by using coupons???
Do you just keep a note of it or put it away for something??
Yes, any money I save by using money off coupons, or vouchers I get from doing surveys or free clicks, or nectar/tesco points I actually save and transfer to a savings account at the end of the month.Books - the original virtual reality.

Morning everyone :hello:- unfortunately it is not sunny here.
Just on to update sig as spent £48.39 in mrT yesterday, all good stuff though!0 -
Hi all it is lovely and sunny here just hope it stays this way, went to asda before dropping dd to school and spent 17 pounds, bit more than I wanted to but less than I have been spending. So spent 131 pounds of the budget with just over 2 weeks to go, should be ok, I still have a chicken in the freezer and loads of mince, so it is only top ups for the rest of the month.0

I agree. I really like the Gill Holcolme book, but it might not be for everyone. I think there are some great recipes and meal plans, so worth it to me, but if someone already has those recipes or that method of doing things, obviously not so useful.
Take a book for a 'test drive' is always better than spending money, and you still have something new to look at...
PS: Don't forget to take it back though - all this talk about the book just reminded me mine is still sitting here a week late, so a fine to pay now...:mad:LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0
