Hi - haven't had a chance to catch up on any posts. HOpe all is well with everyone's budgets!! my first attempt is getting a bit stretched. I seem to keep topping up fruit as am trying not to buy loads in one go to avoid waste!!

I do have some squished fruit that i will make into muffins tomorrow.

Well my main reason for posting was to say 'How great is flour?!!'

I have lovely twinks (too addictive), scrummy hm breadrolls, and today i made those lovely tortillas - wow can't believe how clever it was i really didn't expect it to work - don't know why!! Thanks to mrsm for those. I had them for my tea and they were scrummy. Took my sis some twinks and breadrolls and she thought i was clever too :D

Tomorrow i am going to make a victoria sandwhich and muffins or maybe gingerbread! Thanks to everyone for posting. I am really trying hard not to spend and flour is helping - bread and treats - what more do you need in life :rotfl:

    hugs Kaat lady.

I have a question for those in the know....

How long does skimmed milk powder keep past the use by date.
I just found some in my cupboard that expired in feb and would like to know if I should just chuck it out or if I can use it up.
  • Mrs Mc, i am thinking of you and your family at this sad time. x

Yes flour is amazing isn't it!
I need to go and put the BM on for the first time in ages as I couldn't be bothered to go and make the artisan dough today. So better get off me bum and do it.
I've made 36 cup cakes awaiting icing and 64 hobnobs ready for DD's school fair on Saturday. I told DH he might have to ice them ready and drop them off at 12. Cheeky so and so asked what time he had to pick it all up again (so he got a flick with the tea towel!).
NSD for me today. Need to get something out of the freezer for tomorrows tea (with salad!) and then I'm sorted. TTFN peeps.

Well if it was me I would mix up a little bit of it and taste it. If its still very dry and isnt stuck together-I reckon it will be ok. Nothing like the taste test before you use it in a big way.

Yes it should smell like the baby milk-sounds normal :+)

It should taste like skimmed milk-not offensive but just a bit watery and bland-well thats the best description I can give you.
