    Hi

Ticking along nicely at the moment. Still on target but long way to go. Does not help when everything keeps going up. Apples alone up 0.10p a bag and the price of cooking oil. Well

    Happy shopping

had my hair done today M/S style (training academy) and it,s lovely, £15 for a multi tonal job. Had to resist the urge to then go and have a meal to myself to show it off. Was really keen on a chinese take-away as well but remained strong, the house is falling down with grub.

MrsMc - I know you are not reading this at the moment, but I just wanted to add my hearfelt condolences to the chorus on here. I hope we will all give you some strength in the time to come

Yes, I do not see the point of a price book at the moment as the prices are literally changing daily.

Right, I have sliced my ham (I got loads of meat), in the end I did it in the slow cooker with some apple juice, peppercorns, carrots and onions. It is lovely and tender, although I do find the flavour quite strong - maybe I will try unsmoked next time...or put less onion in. If this is going to be a regular thing, I will have to invest in a slicer

Anyay, my question - in the crockpot of the slow cooker, I now have a sort of jelly, with carrots and onions etc in. How do I make this into ham, pea and lentil soup (have some red lentils that need using)? I'm kind of presuming that that is just ham stock in the SC (as it has gone jelly-like, like chicken stock would...), so I'ld just follow a recipe and use the ham stock....
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment

Just signing on to send my condolences to MRSMC.

Still using up Freezer contents, tonight we had a HM Minced Pie, the filling was already made as the last time we had this I made double quantity so today I only had to make the pastry for it, had potatoes, carrots, cabbage and green beans with it, cooked all the veg in the steamer to cut costs. OH and kids said they think the veg tastes nicer when it's out of the steamer so shall get back into the habit of using it again.

The Iced buns were gorgeous, thanks to who posted the recipe, sorry I didn't make a note.

Thanks mama67 for the Gingerbread Muffins, shall make those tomorrow.

What is going on with this weather - just seen the forecast for tomorrow, rain, rain and even more rain. At least all the veggies are getting a good watering and it may spur them on as I can't wait to start picking things.;)

Yes, I thought of that after (then I would have a nice index in the folder eh! :D ), but by then I had about 30 different things on the one document, and thought it would take too long to split up - brain was def not switched on when I started that one! :o

    Hi denise :j

    Hi everyone :hello:

I just had my MrT delivery. Total came to £70.16. after MOCs & promotional savings :D I just have to say though GRRRR!! to everyone who bought all the cheap supercook stuff cos it was all out of stock apart from 1 pack of sugar flowers and 1 pack of sugar strands :( The Pearce Duff Blancmange had gone up to 69p so I cancelled that off my order yesterday. I did manage to get the colemans Sweet & Sour packet mix for 13p and the McDougalls Puff Pastry mix for 8p though. :money:

So I've spent £138.72 so far which leaves £236.28 for the next 3 weeks. :) Better go update my sig...

I keep a folder on the desktop called "recipes". Every time I see one I might use I copy and paste it into word and save it in my recipe folder.
You can then view it as a list(it will be alphabetical) by going into "view" and list. This have saved me loads of headaches. I print out my faves and have a recipe book of my own(a spiral book I can tear sheets out of). I get a glue skick and glue them on the pages. If they get too tatty I can tear them out and reprint them/restick them.
At the front of the same book I have my freezer inventory-again-because its a spiral book I can tear it out when its too out of date.
I add stuff as I buy it(by checking through my receipts)and cross off what Ive used.Well-thats the theory anyhow!!!

Had a gift card from Asda today with the £4 on for the cereals Id left on the checkout bless them! Amazing how people help you when you ask nicely.
Just need to find some more now with the swim vouchers on, but before I do that, I need to phone the pool and see if they accept them Asda gave me a new sports token too the other day-need to check that out too.
Got a huge bundle of receipts in my purse so must add them to my spending diary and keep it all up to date.

We will be spending from a separate budget tho this week also as its school activities week and Ive booked DD off as holdiay as she suffers from travel sickness but is ok in the car with me(within reason)so we are doing daytrips.
2 hours bowling with her yesterday has let me know Ive got muscles in my arm Id forgotten all about!
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults
