why to getting angry im just putting my point across i understand yes you have to pay for your own petrol and of course its more expensive with the price hike but thats something that should be sorted out with your empolyer and not by the customer as im already paying for it to be delivered as my local added £1.50-£3 depending on how far you live away x

If only that was easy many of these employers come from away, they dont pay good wages to there foreign staff who work very long hours, late morning until 12.00 am. My ex boss spoke very little English (Italian) so imagine saying to them, can I have a wage rise. If they gave wage rise, who would pay, the customer ultimately0

If I order a pizza I pay by credit card over the phone, so no tip.
If I pay in cash I might round it up and give them the spare. I.e costs £8.50, give them a £10

Yes, we would tip the taxi driver for a take-away. Usually make it up to a whole pound number, and at least £1. Usually it is between £1-2, same with taxis.
We don't always tips when out at restaurants though. We went for a chinese last night and the bill was £42.80 and DH made it up to £50. I was quite surprised as he often doesn't tip in restaurants. However, the service really was excellent and so was the food so we were happy with that. So, in the cheap places where we eat more often (pizzahut etc) where the service can be shockingly bad we do not tip at all but we will tip if the service is there.
What is weird with me is that I will tip the girl who does a £4 cut of my son's hair but not the hairdresser who cuts mine (depending on where I go it cost £40 - £70 for a simple cut and blow dry). I'm not sure I fully undertand my reasons for this.
We had an evening wedding in a 'posh' country hotel and then a meal around one large table in their private dining room. We hired the library for the actual wedding. When we got the bill a few days later they had added on a 15% tip on the whole damn lot (library and private dining room hire etc). I didn't think the service was that good for the amount we were paying and to add a several hundred pound tip on was just taking the !!!!. So I sent back a cheque minus the whole 15% tip and didn't even give them £1.
Sorry....going a bit off topic there.0 -
Dont get me wrong I enjoy the job there are occasions where I get a angry customer they usually dont blame me but the takeway, I try and give a freebie like crackers as I am not allowed to do really but take some spare ones with me. I do resent having to ring people up and try and ring before hand. Although thing when you have a few customers I try and do the one who orders first but sometimes I wont because it would mean go over side of town and back again. Sometime you get customers who live near shop yet ordered last from the next batch, one time I had a customer annoyed with me for waiting so long but they ordered last, I cant win if I go there first the others customers then wait longer and may ring up complaining this is at peak times 7-9pm. I try and get round the quickest routes and try and save on petrol not always easy when you get calls from base to say wheres there order and yes I dont take calls when I drive.searching_me wrote: »not being bad but you choose to be a delivery person nobody made you and if you cant afford it then dont xxx0

LOL I have had people pay some of there meal in coppers and 5p's a real pain to carry and count out and I end up taking them home and saving them up and putting them in machine in supermarket and I make a lose. The shop dont want them, I also have to carry £20 float which doesn't last long most people pay £20 notes so now I carry about £50-£70 of £1-£2 coins plus 20p's I swap tips in jar with notes when I can. I use to always run out of change and now one wants to give you some so that's why I try and carry more. I can easily use £30 float in no time first few customers and then I have to dip into my extra float until I get my change built back up
Some customers wont even let you have the odd 10p either or they don't have enough money I have let some people off the odd 50P and I wouldn't do that too often as I would be down on my wages
Its a real a pain in winter I have to carry a torch with me to find numbers sometimes. you have to jiggle about the food, money (in belt), torch.
One occasion I lost £5 as I thought the cutomer had given me a higher value note when it turned out I hadn't, you cant go back and ask. The swine doesnt even tip either0 -

Tescos, Asda Deliveries though. I wouldn't tip them on the last day of the Earth.
For little take-away drivers it's personal. And THEY DO remember you. You'll find that your deliveries get limited priority based on what they're doing, like 30-minutes instead of an hour.
and the asda/tesco delivery driver won't remember you?is he doing a different job? picking up your food, driving the van, bringing your food to your door. why differenciate?
The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits0
