Feeling pretty fed up at the mo. Money is sooooo tight. Haven't paid last months rent let alone this month and its really bothering me. Things should be easier as the car is paid for and it frees up £180 per month as well as another £50 that should be put away for the oil but if anything they are worse and I can't see why its like this.

I've been thinking long and hard about my horse and it I don't get this job (should find out on 17th) I think I should sell him or put him out on loan. It breaks my heart to think like this but needs must. I'm not sure about the old boy (he actually costs more) as nobody would want him and his recent wobbly has me worried.

Maybe I'm just feeling that way out, mentioned it to OH and he didn't say I shouldn't. Decisions, decisions.

Oh lucielle, sorry you are feeling this way. Don't make any decisions til you hear about the job. You come over as such a resourceful and talented person I feel sure an employer will snap you up before long.

Things are never quite as bad as they seem Lucielle.

How about a horse share rather than a loan, that way you'll still have him but someone else will be paying towards his keep too. There are plenty of people who would love to claim they have thier own horse but don't have the time to commit to looking after one and can't afford full livery.

I have thought about a share. I keep him in the middle of nowhere and its a 50 mile round trip when I go up. I pay peanuts to keep them which is why they are so far away, but it all adds up. I've got shoes and a vet visit next month and nothing saved up. Struggling to pay last weeks livery amongst other things and 1 of the cars needs road tax. It never stops. Children need new shoes and the boys (OH included) need their hair cutting.

Going down to SIL this week and OH has arranged to go to the pleasure beach (He has got the money put away) it really is the last thing I feel like doing. I'll just have to put a brave face on it. I have a friend staying to look after the menagerie so hopefully she will get the phone call re prospective job. Enough moaning. Going to get dressed.

You might have horses in the middle of nowhere but you'll be surprised how far people will travel if theres enough flexibility and the price is right. Don't write off a horse share.

Have you tried doing OH and boys hair yourself? Clippers are surprisingly easy to use, even easier on people than horses. A reasonable set is £10 and you'll get a few years out of them.

Keep threatening to take OH and the DDs to see the lights but have yet to get round to it. I loved the pleasure beach as a child. Maybe a few days away will put things into perspective?

I used to do the boys hair and can do any cut as long as its a number 2! I will hold off any decision until I know for definate regarding the job.

Just had a lovely afternoon at the beach and timed it with a castle to coast ride. Loads of people out on their hairy beasts having a whale of a time. OH was looking slightly aghast when some of the horses got a bit het up. I just wish mine would go in a box! Spoke to one lady who told me it was a 23 mile round trip. Don't think my buttocks could take that!

Ah L sounds you are in a real rough patch.

Sounds like the sooner you get the news about this job the better. I'm positive it will all work out for you. These things are sent to try us and try us they certainly do.

I clipper my OH's hair (what there is of it) but have long since given up on the DS's. I did it a couple of times and it look awful but that was just me. I take mine to a hairdressing school where its really cheap. I get mine done there too and its been great - I've learnt a lot about hairdressing as well.

It will all work out, stay positive
