Things aren't great. 10 years ago I was admitted to hospital with some unusual symptoms. My temperature would fluctuate to a very high rate and I would be shivering or I would get a hot one and burn up. I spent a week in hospital being prodded and poked but they never found what it was. At the time we had just come out of a stressful period and I think it was my bodies way of coping. A bit like a pressure cooker getting up to pressure.

The symptoms are back. I've been having a few 'flushes' (its not the menopause) and tried to ignore them as I can't be ill. This weekend they are back with a vengeance. Spent 2 hours awake in the early hours, waiting for one to pass and the drugs to kick in. I've had the shivery one this morning and currently having a 'hot' one.

I haven't got time to be ill, if I don't work I don't get paid, I need to go to this meeting, though I don't fancy the 3 hour drive each way.

  • Oh honey I'm sorry to hear that - did they tell you if it was stress related before? You've so much on your plate, if you need a breather, please take one.

Hugs honey and lots of them a hundredfold.

    Keep chin up x

They never found out what it was. Currently got a temperature of 38.5 and the paracetamol doesn't seem to be working. OH has been up and down like a brides nightie since 2am, his back is hurting. He took himself off to casualty and they referred him back to the docs, he managed to bag 2 appointments, 1 for him and 1 for me. OH has been referred to the consultant.

I have a slight urine infection but nothing else to warrant the symptoms. Got to go back in a week if it doesn't get better. Not sure I can last that long as I've had 4 'episodes' today. Currently set myself a spreadsheet up as I'm getting confused as to what I've taken when, also recording temperature and times to see if there's a pattern.

  • Oh lovely - what a whole lot of uncomfortableness you just don't' need.

And poor OH - what a nightmare for you

    A spreadsheet sounds quite sensible.
