Hi Piq, everything is fine. Just don't feel like I've got much to say, or be helpful in any way.

Trying to sort out my !!!!!! as need to submit a new claim as my old was archived and can't possibly be retrieved. Must get it done.

Took DS2 to the orthodontist yesterdeay, everything ok, he's got to wear his bottom retainer a bit longer, over night and up to dinner time as his gnashers aren't settling.

On the way back called in to one of these outdoorsy places and got some prices for DD1s kit list. Also spent £100 on some kit, she's paid me £40 back and will give me the rest. She went and did her gardening job yesterday afternoon. Today she's washed and cleaned somebodies car and their wheelie bin.

Tomorrow as long as the weather holds, we're off to do a car boot (really, really hate doing them) to fund raise a bit more. Hope the weather is kind and we sell lots of stuff as the office is chokka with stuff.

Off for drinks with a friend I haven't seen for a while. Will need the drinks as she tells me the same stories each time! Bless her.

Paid £25 to our only credit card. Get paid a week on Wednesday and it will be based on the new hours so not looking forward to that at all.

We managed to get 91 quid which we all shared, so bunged 20 into the holibobs pot. Also resemble a twice boiled lobster as it was really hot yesterday. OH bought a curry for tea, which I was really grateful for.

Massive thunderstorm this morning, which knocked the electrics out. Decided to strip the paper off the bathroom. Not a big job as most of it was hanging off. Unfortunately the twits that put the tiles on put them on top of the lining paper and OH pulled them off. Currently looking at the waterproof wall linings.

Car is off to the auction tomorrow, not hopeful its going to make very much. DS1s car is booked for a service on Wednesday.

Hours have been cut back to 30 per week. Did ask if I could do them over 3 days but its not happening.

Went on the works race day yesterday and had a great time. Which was surprising due to the bad feeling over the reduced hours and general apathy. The boss gave everyone a tenner and to see who did the best. Honestly the chaps wouldn't tell ayone what they were betting on and being really cagey. Luckily us girls had got some tips from one of the other site managers.

I won on the first 2 horses and then lost on the others but came home with the original tenner. Not often you go to the races and come home with more dosh! Had a bit too much Pimms early on but was fairly sober by the end of the night. Stayed over at a friends house last night and then went into work for a couple of hours.

Dropped DS1s car in for a service and it needed a bit of extra work doing, wheel bearing, track rod end which came to £242.92. Haven't seen him to tell him yet.

Took DD2 to get her new twin block braces fitted. Honestly, she sounds so funny but her jaw has started aching so she's getting grumpy now. Called in at Asda and managed to spend £65 including 2 pairs of school trousers for the DDs. Really need to curb the grocery spends and eat some stuff out the freezer.

DD1 is cooking tonight and is making steak pie, roast and mashed spuds, carrots and broccoli followed by chocolate brownie, yum is all I can say.

Had a revamp of the gym programme this week and a session with the instructor. At the beginning I was yakking my head off by the end could just about manage to grunt. Completely knackered!

Took DD1 to footy training, if this is going to be a regular thing she needs to give something else up. Whilst she was there DD1 and I went to the beach. Gorgeous evening and the sea was really calm and in all the way. Had a lovely walk along the beach.

Managed to sell my 'gold' for £310. Not sure what we're going to do with the dosh, whether to get my engagement ring mended or get the bathroom sorted.

Car didn't meet the reserve we put on it but have decided to cut our losses and put it back in on Monday and let it go for whatever it makes. Will cash in tha tax.

  • Good news on a tenner from the boss and having a fun day - carbooty sounds productive!

    And the gold - wow - :)

    Shame about the car......................

Good luck on cutting down on grocery spends - I'm struggling!

Had a BBQ last night, then went to watch the Olympics. I'll feel quite sad when it finishes. Spent the morning hoovering and tidying and doing lots of washing, which got dried.

DD1 was away doing her gardening jobs, bit worried as she doesn't seem to be making much progress. She has paid me back the money she owes me for her kit, so that's good,

Feel a bit in limbo at the mo. At work they are telling us one thing and then doing another. Reading between the lines I'm not sure its doing that great. The things I want to do all cost money ans it goes on.

Sending the car back to auction as it didn't sell, this time just take what we can get for it. OH will start it up today and give it the once over.

Hopefully going on a long walk today.
