Feeling unsettled this weekend. A friend has just 'lost' her baby at 23 weeks, I feel really upset on her behalf. I think I am going to do some cooking for her and her OH and also put some things in my freezer as I have been really lazy over the festive period. I think I'll start with leek and butternut squash soup for lunch and take it from there.

That's a horrible thing to happen, my friend lost hers two days before it was due for no reason. It's just so devastating, life is very unfair sometimes. Hugs to you lucielle

I have made (and eaten) the soup also baked 2 cakes, 1 to take to friends and I am thinking about making a lasagne as well. Also cleaned tack and put new reins on bridle ready to take back on Tuesday.

Working tomorrow, hopefully Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning. Got DD1 to take to the dentists on Monday morning. DD2 has an extra day off on Monday so after dropping DD1 back at school we need to find something exciting to do together.

As well as making the cake for my friend I have made 2 apple and sultana crumbles and 2 lasagnes along with some corned beef pie and quiche. All this can go in her freezer so she can have an easier time of it. I have also got some sticky toffee pudding and sauce and I will deliver it tomorrow.

Taken DD1 to the dentists this morning. Yikes it was very slippy out in the car and I hate driving in less than perfect weather conditions. Must make a note to myself to get rid of teethmarks from steering wheel! No debt busting today as I still have DD2 at home, teacher training, so i took her out for a hot chocolate and sticky cake.

That's really lovely of you lucielle.

He fell out with the gate and pulled his shoe off! Had a couple of days on bute and his shoe put back on. He was sound in walk today but I couldn't tell if he was lame because of the ground or he is still sore, when I trotted him today. The main thing was to let him rest. He had a nice dose of wormer and a carrot and a quick brush.

Having spag bol for tea tonight and for tomorrow I am going to make a ham and mushroom pie.

Had a bit of an aaaaaaaagh moment last night. OH came home and asked if I wanted the good or bad news first (never a good sign). Requested bad news. He has been having trouble with his brakes, so he called into a garage and they said it sounded like it was something to do with his ABS and this 'unit' was £500. OH has detached the unit and has gone back to old style brakes. Asked what the good news was and he told me he still had his job. This set alarm bells ringing and I checked the paperwork and his car is due for its MOT in Feb my car is due in April along with tax and nothing in the car budget. Somebody point me in the direction of Dooyoo.
