I know this is really stupid and there are a lot bigger things going on in the world but I'm so upset. A couple of weekends ago OH and I did a sort of bucket list of things we wanted to do in our 4th decade (not that I'm quite there yet). One of OHs was to go and see Bruce Springsteen (personally think he sounds like a strangled cat). Anyway I put it on my list with a website I use and then I've been getting emails annoucing that he's touring and tickets go on sale today, I've even got it in my diary. I've been really crafty and deleted all the emails before OH could see them. Geared up ready for 9.00 this morning when they go on sale when OH phones at 8.50, his sister has sent him a text to say he's on tour. Me completely gutted as this was going to be the icing on the cake for Christmas (which I'm also not keen on). His sister and hubby had managed to get tickets as they are priority holders but as I couldn't get hold of her hubby to find where they were going to be I've had to book 2 for up here and hope one of the chaps wants to go.

I can't really understand why I'm so gutted he's found out, sat here bawling, honestly need to get a grip. I think I could've built it up in my mind as this grand gesture and vision of me brandishing these tickets and feeling smug that he's got something he wanted and the amount of thought I'd put in to keeping it a secret etc.

Kinda with you on that one. Im a big fan too and DD wanted to get tickets for my big bday in March. Prob is they cost so much so I told her i'd rather her put the money into driving lessons and her test as i feel its more of a priority, then at least I could get a weekend away and she could be in charge and not be stuck out in the sticks (more beneficial to moi, im thinking). I saw Bruce in 85 or 86 in leeds he was fab, but hes a bit older now so I dont feel to hard done by :rotfl:
Im sure OH will understand when you explain you wanted it to be a big surprise.

Also I now that he knows I know he'll go off and panic buy, with no thought and little imagination. Trouble is there's nothing I need or want at the mo. Last year I got a c0cktail shaker (wonder if that will get through the swear filter) apparently I'd mentioned that it looked fun. So does having another horse but I'm not gonna rush out (unfortunately) and get one. God I'm in such a grump. Been and taken the hounds for a walk to blow some cobwebs away.

Proud mummy moment, DS2 had a lead role in the school play and he was an absolute star, we as a family are all very proud of him. Off to York today for 1 of the Christmas parties, looking forward to a night away and get some last minute shopping in.

The chaps got us together last night and gave us an envelope with some cash in and they've booked us a table at our favourite restaurant for tomorrow night as my birthday and Ohs Christmas present. They have even booked the table. What lovely chaps and must remember that when I'm ready to throttle them.

Was very windy yesterday but everything seems to be ok and all animals present and correct. The turkeys days are numbered and they've all been sold 2 to teachers at DS2s school.
