Back is still sore and as its payday today, so I'm treating myself to the chiropractor tomorrow night. As its a 'friend' she's also knocked me a fiver off. DS1 is now signed up for the agricultural apprentice course which will see me 1 week in 3 zooming to Penrith. Hopefully there are other chaps who are localish on the course and a bit of petrol money may ease DS1 into getting a lift. Paid a big wodge of cash off a credit card, sadly this is the credit card that isn't on the snowball and is the emergency spending one. Hopefully without any mishaps I'll see the back of it next month, just in time for Christmas, its never ending!

DD1 has been to the maths tutor tonight, there goes my riding money, C'est la vie. Sure there'll be other nags to terrorise and flatten in the future. Got my sil and bil coming this weekend, looking forward to that. Booked a table at our fave restaurant on Saturday night, no children coming, shame. Also going to use some tickets I got from when the Queen came, to go out on Saturday day, hope the weather's nice.

DS2 was having a strop earlier over the number of guests he was allowed for his party. Is it me or does anybody else find these occasions exceedingly stressful? I had marked a weekend when OH was around for moral support but he's helpfully booked himself a double shift. Mustn't grumble think of the wonga. I've been eyeballing the blackberries which aren't quite ready but I saw the farmers wife having a gander at them today so need to beat her to it otherwise she'll have the lot!

Made soup ready for tomorrow nights tea as DS2 has footy practice and by the time I get home I'll need a quick turnaround. Think that's me done.

Have had the back done. It's a lot better but I need another session next week and she deducted another fiver. After I've been to the chiropractor I always think this is something that should be done regularly a bit like dentists and opticians. I think I need to factor a trip a couple of times a year to keep things ticking over. I've been given some exercises to do which I attempted this morning. I am so not supple and should think about yoga.

I love yoga, and used to be very disciplined about doing it daily (at one point, I was doing 2 hours a night!!! - mind you, the children were young, and in bed at 7ish, and OH worked away at that time, so I was fairly well tied to the house with nothing else to do.....)

But I do think it is beneficial in so many ways. My only thing would be to say have your first few sessions with a really well trained tutor who will take into account your back problems. don't just buy a DVD and do it yourself at this stage, although I am perfectly happy to admit that is the way I do my yoga, simply because it fits in with whatever else I have got on.

Hi Lu - I always ask my sis and hopefully BIL to come over when I do DS's parties - I definitely like extra moral support - I also limit the number of invites as I find them one of the most stressful days of the year!

Glad you've had some treatment on your back and have some treats booked. Hope you start to feel better soon

Had a great weekend. After a stressful week at work, had to have words about a member of staff. Went off and did touristy things yesterday, DD1 made a hedgehog house, free, they all made some tiles out of clay which are drying in the kitchen and then they can be painted. Went out for a meal last night which was good and I didn't mind driving. Took my sil into the village for a look round and managed to get DD2 a new school coat for £15 reduced from £30.

Onto other news, DS1 has been wanting to get a sheepdog. Today saw OH and DS going puppy hunting and I've just had the phone call to say he's got one. The other 3 are excited not sure how the resident house dog is going to take it as she dotes on DS1. Should be home about 8.30.

Wrenched my back again this morning, I was only getting dressed. It feels as bad as it did last weekend, toying with phoning the chiropractor to see if I can bring the appointment forward.
