Ayes (can I call you that? Of course you can:)) was that 2010? Yes, just 9 days ago. how did you find the procedure? A million times better than you think it will be and it only takes about 10 mins in total (the lasering itself is seconds). I was amazed how quickly the discomfort passed - mine were done at 2pm and by 7pm my eyes felt fine. The discomfort was only very slightly worse than when you cry with onions. My eyelids did feel very heavy for a couple of hours, so much so that it was almost impossible to open them. I was amazed that when I stood up after the procedure, although my vision was hazy, I could read the sign on the door - beforehand I couldn't have even found the door without my glasses/contacts!! if you don't mind me asking how old are you? 40
I can have the procedure my right eye is a 3 and left is a 4 (whatever that means). My friend was star as chauffeur and I bought her lunch and gave her £10 petrol money. It should be good enough to mean I don't have to wear glasses but might not be as 'sharp' as when I am wearing them. For some tasks I 'might' need a slight prescription, but then again it could be perfect. They don't guarantee 100% and have gone through all the potential problems. The bad bit is £1700 per eye, they do offer 0% finance. Who did you have your assessment with? I used Optical Express and have been very impressed with them. I was quoted £3290 for both eyes and negotiated it to £3000, but as I said could probably have got more off if I'd tried. OE offer 10 months interest free options. It is a lot of money but it was worth it for me as I don't get on that well with glasses and contact lenses were starting to cause dryness. Are you short or long-sighted? I was short-sighted and my prescription was -2.75 and -5.75. I had my 1 week post op check up yesterday and my vision is one line better than 20/20 in left eye and one line worse in right eye. I was told beforehand that I will at some point in the future still need glasses for reading (as does everyone apparently). What type of procedure did they reccomend for you?
Feel free to ask me anything else you want to know.

Have made a boob, I thought OH was getting paid today, turns out he didn't. Luckily I've been paid this week but it certainly means a tight week. Both cars are full or near enough, so thats sorted. No badminton this weekend, as a cost cut.
Still not 100% decided on the eye front. If money wasn't a problem I'D go for it. £3000, could be a family holiday or Ds1s college fees.

Hope you don't drop a ball V. Took the children swimming, whilst they were in the pool, OH and I took the mutt for a walk, t'was very slippy. Watched Erin Brockovich, Julia Roberts is lined up to be the childrens step mother if anything happens to me. That's according to OH anyway, much muttering of dream on from my direction. Really fancied a takeaway tonight but thats not going to happen, in fact I've been dreaming about having one!!!!
Ds1 has gone beating. Chaps have been fighting everyone on the xbox.

Lucielle - a question for you
I haven't sent books to accountant yet for year end 30/09/10 (I know I know). Am I right in thinking tax bill will be due end of Jan and that he has to submit prior to this. In other words, if I get them to him next week, will there still be time for IR to calculate bill prior to 31st Jan or is that me already screwed because I have been too late

Think you need to phone accountants and get them in pronto tonto. Tax return will be due end of Jan. Depends how busy/nice accountant is to get the return sorted.

If you wanted the IR to work out tax due they had to be in at the end of Sep I think. If you work out how much you owe yourself the deadline for submission AND payment of tax due is 31st Jan.
Hope that's OK and that you manage to get it in. I hate the January deadline when there's always Xmas bills and several unexpected problems too.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420
