Took my mum out yesterday and she treated me to 4 new tops and 2 pairs of shoes. I detest buying shoes as I have broad feet and am probably a EEE fitting. However I found 2 pairs that fitted lovely so into the basket they went. I wore a pair to work today. The other nice thing was that I could get into the next size down so that was a real boost. Got DD1 a few bits and bobs for Turkey. She found some really nice sandals that were in a 3 but she was worried she would grow out of them by October and they didn't have any in a size 4.
Last day at work today and a whole week off, however I am doing the other job on Sunday. Nearly paid for the ski trip and then need to get the spending money together, for skiing and for Turkey, though DD1 seems to be making little effort to earn any and I am a tad bit disappointed in her.
Have managed to secure a contract through work to supply them with logs and hopefully another site as well. This will help with our cashflow over the winter.
Got sis and BIL coming next weekend to vet the potential house.
I have been lurking on MemoryGirls thread, she is so inspiring. I have ordered the Secret from Amazon and was hoping it would've arrived by now. I can see a day lolling in bed reading that one.
Had a nice tea tonight, just got some pork loin from Lidl, grilled them and served with new pots, carrot and swede mash, with french beans. Hopefully come in just under my daily points allowance as I'm onto my second Pimms.
Aims for this week are to try and do some accounts every day, to catch up.
Keep the house in semblance of order
Batch baking
hopefully have a wee bit of a rest as these early mornings are beginning to catch up with me.

Well done on the weight loss L. The stone barrier is pretty major and is a definite milestone. Your mum sounds nice buying you some clothes and shoes, enjoy her while she's with you! I'm speaking as someone who lost her Mum very early, (I was 31 and she was 69).
The house sounds interesting and if you're getting the family to view it must be a definite "maybe".CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
V, my mum is like no other 'normal' mum. People think I'm hard when I talk about her, but we had a strange childhood and she certainly hasn't got a good track record with the males of the species. She is stuck in a loveless marriage where they both detest the sight of one another yet can't afford to get out. Health wise there is no way she could look after herself, despite her thinking she can.
I think she is losing her marbles and it gets very difficult trying to persuade an overweight, unsteady and obstinate person that they haven't had a shower and certainly need one. I managed to get her in twice and helped her get her hair washed and then made sure she was dry. She forgets which clothes have been worn and quite often looks like the definative 'bag lady' She refuses to have her hair cut and is an exceedingly heavy smoker. It does look ok when its washed and I can get it tied back.
At the end of the day she is mum and I try my best.

The house sounds promising, and well done on the weight loss, Ive fallen off the wagon lately with my diet, must get back on track. Glad things are going ok with mum being with you, it must be difficult, its one thing popping to see them but when they live with you for any length of time it gets a bit fraught to say the least!!

Managed to get the accounts up to date yesterday and hoovered. Today I've hung 2 loads of washing out and got to the botoom of the ironing pile. Just need the chaps to put it away. I am going to put a couple more things on the list
Asda order is a must
sort DD2s drawers out.
Going to work later. Boys are off ferreting and the girls are having a DVD fest. OH will be back about 4.30ish and I'm not sure what time I'll get done.

I've had a mini brainwave...... I know it hurt!!!! We haven't been doing very well at the debt busting recently and its bothering me, especially as we have a potential house purchase looming on the horizon. Then it struck me, seriously it was like a lightening bolt from the blue (me dramatic, never) why not pay all my wages to the debt? At the moment I get paid 4 weekly and OH is weekly. As soon as I get my wages I pay for the rent and the hoss. In September (very sadly) I wont have the hoss so another expense gone. I have just done some quick calculations and in theory it works.
We are desparate to get rid of the Tescos loan which is £324.60 a month repayment. OH is considering paying this off out of the business, I'm not keen. I want to increase our wages from the business to cover the repayment. I think we are going to give this a try in September.
