Hi Lucielle - completely sympathise with the weight thing. My mare loses it by the hour through the winter so have to get as much on her as possible through the summer. I have already bought her in at night as the weather has been so bad - she gets blue chip as well at £38.00 a bag but it seems to do the trick!
Hope abscess clears up quickly - have you got the joy of poulticing it?

Hi Lucielle (and Penguin)
I too have a horse that loses weight easily (wish I did) he's the main reason I don't post an soa up on the forum, I'm always afraid the advice will be to get rid of him to bring my debt down faster :eek:but I've had him all his life (he's 20 now)
Lucielle you work so hard and your seem to be paying off a nice chunk of debt, so well done!
I will keep reading your diary and popping in from time to time, if you don't mind too much

Morning its nice having people post as I think I must be dead boring. Penguin, he has had his rug on for a few days but trying not to go full time with it yet. He is due to have a tooth out in November which will hopefully help him to chomp better he's 29 and a lovely chappie for the children to ride. He has seen it all etc.
Piq I am not poulticing as where I keep him is a long way from where I live (another story) so the owner of the yard does it for me. I know what you mean about costs. It has been broached about selling mine and if things get really tight I will have to. I have clung on so far and we are managing..... just. I try not to mention when the farrier has been or a vets bill as I get the look from OH.
Working this afternoon. So my list for today is get a child to clean the hens out, wash our sheets, make a curry sauce that I have been meaning to for ages and it I get time sort out the raspberry canes........deliver Avon.

Purchased 4 pairs of school shoes :eek:and listed 1 used kidney on e-bay:rotfl:Made base sauce for curry and used that to make chicken Korma for tea and it really was just like the one you get from the Indian. Very please with the results and worth the effort making the sauce in the beginning even though it took ages. Not been to work and not sure when i'm back in. Very frustrating having such an ad hoc job and dis organised boss. Must find something better.

Morning chaps. Worked yesterday morning. Came home had lunch then went up to see the boys. They were at the farthest end of the field. Dragged them in, groomed, tacked up just about to get the children on and the heavens opened. Brought them back inside. Practiced plaiting manes, waited a bit longer. Gave up and turned them out! Came home and watched Water Horse on dvd (thinking I have got 2 water horses of my own).
Finally delivered AVON. Managed to get it all out bar 2 parcels 1 is away on holiday and the other I will see soon. Jaffa cake bars were all munched by the time I came home. Been asked to do some baking for an open garden. Any funds made will go towards DS2s birthday and party.
Dreading this weeks wages as OH loses money when he is on leave. The only reason he gets a good wage is because he works loads of hours, so when he takes leave it goes back to basic. He is taking the next 2 days off. He has gone to a machinery sale today and taken Ds1 and DD2 with him. He has taken a few bits to sell and will possibly come back with 'something'. So next weeks wages will also be down. Ah well. I got cancelled for work this morning. Going to town later need to get DS2 a pair of pe shorts, DD1 some trainers (cheap) DD2 needs a new pe bag. Will let the 2 children go swimming but I'm not in the mood. DS2 is going for a sleepover so will drop him off en-route home and I have an egg order to deliver. Think thats it.
