Gift aid
Why do some places charge MORE for gift-aid? The National Trust insist that it is HMRC that say that they HAVE to charge more. However, why then do other places not charge more if you want to gift-aid? I think the NT are pulling a fast one and I really resent it. After all if we gift-aid they are getting more money for…

booking.com hotel where do we stand?
Six months ago we booked a hotel in London for this weekend, through booking.com fairly cheap as paid in advance. Today, 2 days before we travel, we got a message saying the booking had been cancelled. We have planned the weekend meticulously, planning in advance to see Billy Joel and couldn't afford to do it any other…

National Trust Membership
I don't know if this has been mentioned previously but anyone taking out National Trust membership can get it cheaper by joining the Scottish National Trust which has a reciprocal agreement with the National Trust in England. It could also be a Moneysaving Moral Dilemma whether to do this or not :D

Places in London as quirky as Camden?

I was telling my pal and he said there’s a couple of other places in London similar to Camden Town. So...come on guys. Give us your suggestions and I’ll do the research. BTW... we have a free day…

parking tips for gig at Heaton Park
Hi, I'm going to one of the big gigs at Heaton Park this month and will be driving (travelling from north of Manchester). I've just received an email saying that parking is at Sheepfoot Lane near the park. £15 all day. Just wondering if there are alternative, easier and (this isn't vital) cheaper options of driving to the…

Help with Euston to Kew Gardens?
Going with 80 year old parent - she doesn't want to use the bus so we're looking at train or tube - speed/less hassle/easiest route is more important than cost although taxi is probably not an option. Steps are ok. What folks suggest for a Saturday?

What’s the difference between Europcar and Keddy car hire in the UK?
What is the difference between Europcar and Keddy car hire? Keddy car hire is significantly cheaper than Europcar for the same vehicle. It appears Keddy is a branch of Europcar, so what is the catch? Will iCarHire insurance cover the excess for Keddy? Do I need to buy any extra insurance?

Hotel Etiquette
No idea where to post this so feel free to move it. And it's probably a ridiculous question but here goes... So I am having a new boiler, new radiators, new piping, the lot fitted in a few weeks which they say will take a few days to complete. As I work a night shift and cannot get time off work, I obviously cannot go 3…

Haven Upgrade
This is a cheeky post but I don't even care. :rotfl: I've got a holiday booked with Haven next week, I booked a discounted (but direct) holiday with them in Jan in a 'deluxe' caravan. I've seen on their website they still have 3 'prestige' and 3 'platinum' caravans left for the week we are going, and with just 5 days until…
