Saving in Dubai
I'm a British Citizen working as a resident in Dubai and hope to sell my house in the UK in the not so distant future. In theory this will give me 240,000 pounds to invest. Having no other income in the UK I plan to invest 100,000 pounds in the Coventry Building Society Netsave Instant III account that has a 5.27% gross…

Investment fund proceeds after a death
I'm asking this question on behalf of my mother; it's a bit complicated but I'll try to keep it brief. My dad died in May 04; we sorted out his finances, probate, etc. and changed most outstanding investments into mum's name. We missed one, a PEP/ISA with Fidelity, and only realised recently when they sent a statement…

Funding Loan with Savings Interest question
Hello all I am thinking of taking out Finance to purchase a vehicle because the dealers are offering some good rates - around 3 to 4%. I have the money in a savings account and could just withdraw it and pay for the vehicle in one hit but if I can earn more on my savings than I am paying out on the loan it seems daft to do…

The AA internet access account
Has anyone opened one of these with the AA? It's instant access, 6.30%AER. £500 min. deposit. Monthly or yearly interest. Connected to Birmingham Midshires/Bank of Scotland. Call centre in UK - which is a definite plus. I thought I might give them a try. Wonder if anyone has had any problems with them?

British Energy shares – Advice sought please
Hi, When my Dad died a few years ago I was gifted some shares in his will. I kept them rather than selling because he was an ex-energy worker himself and every time a dividend came through it was a nice reminder of him. Anyway, I haven’t really kept up to date with what has been happening with British Energy as I have been…
