Genuine Waspi communication?
My wife, who is one of the waspi women, has been sent a communication from kaliaborcollege.org wanting information about her and suggesting she should register to claim or she will miss out. I presume this is just another scam and any communication would come directly from DWP?

25% tax free once only on pensions?
Sorry to be stupid but I don't really understand the 25% tax free allowance, I'm sure this has been asked before, but I've failed to find a simple answer to my question. So figured I would pose it here. Let's suppose that on my 55th birthday I have £200,000 saved in a pension pot. I clearly can't retire on that amount so…

Should I transfer into my teachers pension - more complicated than it seems
I'm 48 and have just retrained as a teacher so I now have a teachers pension. As well as teaching I am likely to retain some freelance income and would like to put some of that into a pension (it is likely to be about half my income so not a small side gig but a second job as I teach part time). I can't top up my teachers…

My part-time job is just 20 hours a month, can I get employers’ contributions in workplace pension?
I have a small, low-paid part-time job alongside freelance creative work. I’ve requested information about a company pension, I understand I don’t work enough hours or earn enough to be automatically enrolled, but I’m trying to understand if I can still pay into a company pension and get employers’ contributions working 20…

A J Bell SIPP - Taxable Element of Crystallised Funds - is a volatile value usual?
I am scratching my head at the way that A J Bell operates drawdown. Could someone please advise whether A J Bell's valuing of crystallised funds is usual? In March, and after AJB’s last payroll run of the 24-25 tax year, I crystallised £7,500 of my SIPP. The 25% tax free amount (£1,875) was subsequently paid in a timely…

wife of husband about to claim state pension
My friend's husband has claimed his pension from July this year. He is married but his wife is 10 years older. She has never claimed pension as she hardly worked and said she hadn't paid enough. I am not sure this is true, but could she not claim on her husbands national insurance and get 60% of his basic pension. I know…

NHS pension increase - why so low?
My retired partner's NHS pension letter arrived today saying that this year's increase is 1.70%. That seems very low considering inflation and wage growth. Does anyone know how they arrive at that figure?

Financial Advisor Planning to Move to New SIPP Platform?
My wife had her annual SIPP review meeting with her financial advisor. The company are considering moving her SIPP from AJ Bell to Soderberg. Aviva to Nest?
Hello. I'm a total ignoramus here, so am very much hoping for a steer! I have three private pension pots currently (that I know about). I have a pot at Mercer (around £25K) from an old employment scheme, into which I no longer pay; I have a relatively new Nest pension with my current employer (2 days a week - I also pay in…

Spanish pension
Hi. Just wondering if anyone has had experience of aggregating years of UK contributions to reach Spanish minimum periods for claiming a Spanish state pension? I am particularly interested in knowing if the so called "freebie years" or juvenile credits given until 2010 are taken into account by Spain. I have about 35 and a…

Was this 1988 pension projection hopelessly unrealistic and can I blame anyone?
At age 28 my employer set up a pension scheme (DC group money purchase I think?). I'm now 65. I still have the 1988 introductory paperwork from the broker. The illustration states that I "earn £9,188 pa, my salary will increase by 5% pa, and the retirement fund will grow by 13% pa. This will create a pension fund of…

Financial Advice for Cashing in a DB Pension
We are planning ahead to retire and ideally would like to cash in two small defined benefit pension pots. One currently has a cash in value of £35k and the other £55k.
