MyCSP pre-retirement webinar - worth £70?

Being a year or so off early retirement I thought it would be helpful to find out more about some of the processes involved in claiming my pension (a civil service Alpha pension) - particularly basics like how much notice to give. The only relevant training course I’ve found is a MyCSP webinar which costs £70.

I am happy I understand the basics of my pension - I just want to be clear about how to claim it and what happens next. I’d appreciate views from any CS pension holders who have attended this and whether they found it useful.

All the information you need is available free on their website eg https://www.civilservicepensionscheme.org.uk/knowledge-centre/resources/pension-power-webinar/
    and

Could you give the link please to the course you have to pay for?
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Have a look on Civil Service Learning and your work intranet.  I think you should normally be able to attend a course paid by your employer.

I was going to suggest the same thing.

I've been on a pre-retirement seminar for CS pensions, and found it very helpful. Not sure whether it's exactly the same thing, and mine didn't cover the specific mechanics of how to go about claiming the pension.

But it was free through my employer.
