DIY Novice - advice please?
The fitting that holds the shower head has cracked and I'm about to replace it. The shower riser is a steel rod going into plastic fittings top and bottom with concealed fixings. Try as I might, I cannot work out how to get one of these undone, so I can slide the new holder on and refix. I'm sure it's simple if you know…

Hot water pressure
Hi there, We're replacing our basin and tap in the bathroom. My question is this, how do i measure the pressure of the (hot) water. With the current tap the cold water blasts through like Niagra but the hot is a lot slower. The tap was a very cheap one so we thought it might just be a faulty tap (not opening properly etc).…

lightening up a dark ceiling
What's best way to lightening up a dark ceiling made of wood tonge and groove that has been vanished. I would have thought emulsion wouldn't stick so would it be best to use gloss (satin or matt)? It really does make our living room dark on a evening compared with dining room with similar lighting.
