Training .. my heart's not in it.
I've done and completed my ECDL course and there's just the Unit E module to pass now. I was kinda geared up to do it but then this new tutor (at LearnDirect) spoke to me about it saying it was really hard, they asked you questions about working with computers abroad and that it was a really high pass rate. I haven't…

Age discrimination.....and I'm only 27!
I have been looking for a job since recovering from a long term illness. I have very limited work experience because of the ill health, but I'm now fine and ready to work. I'm prepared to start from the very bottom, if need be. Anyway, I've been sending my cv off for jobs and had very little response. I've applied for 128…

Working abroad in tax free country
Hi all, I thought I'd read the tax website correctly, but now having doubts. It is my understanding that if I'm a permanent resident in a non tax paying country I am not liable to pay any UK tax as long as I'm not back here for more than 90 days in a tax year. If I were to return after a year, am I liable for any UK tax?…

Bank Holiday
I work part time (I'm a student) and do 10 hours per week. These are set hours, same day/time each week. My days include some that will fall on a bank holiday. So therefore, if I normally work 5 hours on a Monday, should I have to make up these 5 hours later in the week, or not? Thank you :)

My O/H is applying for jobs as he will soon be made redundant. He applied online for one which required all the skills he has and seemed perfect for him, in the environment he's worked all his life in. As he's not applied for jobs in over 40 years, things have changed somewhat! he gave his name, address, age, experience…
