Hello livelyred,
I am assuming £547 is your gross pay. If it is and is unlikely to change over the next tax year I have done the following calculation;
£547 x 12 (tax months/tax year) = £6564
£6564 - £6475 (09/10 tax allowance) = £89 (taxable amount for the year)
£89 / 12 (tax months/tax year) = £7.41 (amount of tax you will pay each month from April 2009).
I have NOT accounted for National Insurance.
