OK i cannot get a straight answer and am getting fed up!!

I work 6 days per week in a part time job 2 hrs per day so 12 hours per week. I at the moment get 24 days holiday as they work it out..6 days x 4 = 24 days..as of yesterday i was told by someone at work that they will get 28 as the new rules have been brought in but he only works 5 days? does mine change?
Thanks

The rules are that you should be entitled to 5.6 weeks holiday - so I think the calculation should by that you are entitled to 5.6 x 12 hours = 67.2 hours holiday - at two hours a day that's works out at under 34 days.

(I'm not sure how you are supposed to handle the rounding - 0.6 of a week is easy if you work five days a week but is not straight forward if you work 6.

Note that bank holidays etc count towards this holiday quota if you don't have to work them.

The holiday entitlement from 1 April will be 33.6 days in a full year. (If your holiday year runs from any other date you will have to pro rata the entitlement between 4.8 and 5.6 weeks pre and post 1 April.)

Employers cannot round down paid holiday entitlement. The 0.6 of a day would be 1 hr 12 minutes. Your employer could round it up to the full 2 hours or could ask you to work 48 minutes extra for one of your other shifts perhaps.
