Which card???
Not sure if i'm embarrassed or proud to know next to nothing about credit cards. I made my first purchase in 4 or 5 years on my old Clydesdale Bank card a few weeks ago, which will have a minimum payment deducted from my current account (is this wise) so i'm unaware of how the credit system works. Basically I have a…

Warning - MS having trouble setting up DD's
If you have recently been accepted for Morgan Stanley card, be sure to call them on 0800 02 88 990 and verify that your 7 Nov and future 7 December statement will be paid by your DD. Even though my DD has been accepted, a computer glitch (so I was told) prevents them from taking the DD on the 7 Nov and 7 DEC statement as…

Card fraud
Having just been on the wrong end of c.£1k's worth of internet fraud (only 16 digit card no. 'pinched/obtained') what do you think about starting up a campaign to get all the banks and frequently used websites to sign up to Mastercard secure code or the Visa equivalent. Perhaps we could all just write/telephone/e mail…

Virgin credit card cheque question
Hi, I was just looking through the terms of my virgin card. It seems to say that a credit card cheque is 0% for the first 12 months. While there is a handling charge of 3% for any cheques written. Does this mean that I can write myself a cheque for the entire balance and deposit it in my bank account and pay no interest…

Slow stooze versus cashback.
This is something that I've meant to look at for a long time, and now is the time. I currently open a 0% purchase CC account every few months and run it up to around £3K. So I've got around £3K of 0% money to put into a 5.45% savings account like Hisave or regular savers etc. The other option for me is a cashback card…

Newbie to Tarting and struggling to get enough credit limit

I have applied at Norwich and Peterboro (6 month 0%) and was immediately accepted but only got a £2,100 credit limit so I need another card. Just applied at…

Running out of credit Cards for BT
Dear All, I've been tarting for over a year now and it has proved to be very useful. However, I am getting to the stage where I'm running out of cards where I can do a balance transfer. I have the Barclaycard 0% for the life of the balance, plus I have a Virgin Card which is run by MBNA and an Amazon card run by Halifax, a…

End of 0% interest period
I apologise if this question has appeared before. My 0% interest period ends on 6/12/06. Because I've left it rather late to get another card, I don't think the balance left on the old card will be cleared till a few days later than this. Can anyone tell me if I will pay interest for a whole month on this amount?

Best Rewards Card for travel
I'm hoping the board may be able to come up with some ideas on the best reward credit cards for travel(in particular flying)! But First a little rant! Virgin (MBNA?) vs M&S (HSBC?) ...
I'm looking to get a new credit card and either Virgin or M&S offers look right for me ... wondering if anyone has experience which can answer these 2 questions: - I already have MBNA and HSBC cards ... does this mean that I won't count as a 'new customer' for Virgin and M&S and therefore won't get their promotional rates?…

Debt after Death
I wonder if someone could answer a query for me, as I've been asked and I don't know what the answer is. A couple we know, the husband is terminally ill and not likely to last long. They have their own CC's, but they are additional card holders for each other on some of the cards. Due to pre-existing disability (although…
