Stroud and Swindon CC

Options
I applied and was accepted for a Stroud and Swindon CC and my understanding from here was that there was no BT fee...I'm sure it was in the best buy article a few weeks ago...anyway I applied on line and received my acceptance today onlt to find that they now impose a 2% fee capped at £100. Am I imagining it or was this card recently fee free for BTs?

What did the T&Cs of your credit agreement say about it? If there is no charge mentioned, raise it with customer services.
If I had a pound for every time I didn't play the lottery...
  • I can guarantee that the S&S card does NOT carry a BT fee.

The T&C document they are sending out is a standard Co-op T&C document with Stroud & Swindon overtyped on the front. The reference therein to a 2% fee refers to their Standard, Gold and Advantage Platinum cards, not the S&S card. Worth confirming with the CSA when you make the BT as there is still confusion over this. If needs be, refer the CSA to their Intranet note under Products & Services/Visa Products entitled "Balance Transfer Fee - YBS and Stroud & Swindon cards ".

I have one and applied about 6 weeks ago. When the T&Cs arrived I rang to query the BT fee and was assured there wld not be one and that the T&Cs was a generic document sent out to all cc customers of the Co-op (who run the S&S card). I took the name and team number of the adviser. All was well when the statement came, no fee had been charged.
