I've recently received my phone bill with charges for my internet usage. I used to have BT Yahoo, and BT Surftime. The thing is, they've billed me on the new tarriff from 28th Sept, and credited me on the old one from 29th Sept. So…

Which Modem to buy?
I may change my broadband to Metronet as they seem to be a good price and many people on here have said they seem to be a good company too. However, this means I have to buy my own modem. Can anyone suggest a good one to buy at a reasonable price? Ive no idea which ones are good and which are not. Also, do Metronet have a…

I am the main user of the computer and never download music or large files. The main reason for wanting Broadband is to be able to use the phone when on the internet. Has anyone…

NTL Broadband
Not sure if this is the right board for this, but I received a flyer today saying new users could get 300k broadband with NTL for £15-99 a month instead of £17-99 a month for the first 12 months. Now being an existing 300k BB customer I felt it unfair that valued customers weren't getting this discount so phoned them up…

What is the best Broadband deal?????
I'm looking to switch from dial up to Broadband. Looking around there are many deals. Some seem to mention a download limit some don't. I feel the best offer is from Onetel. What are your thoughts? :-/ I play online games, send photos, listen to the radio etc, I don't think 2GB is enough for that. Is it???? ??? Thanks

tesco broadband - a fiasco
This is just a polite warning to potential customers. I was finally connected a lot later than they originally said, it worked for two days and since then all I get are 721 errors. I have had a search around the web, and it seems like lots and I mean lots of people are having problems with tesco. You can never get though…

This is just for information if you're on Virgin.net. A recent article on adslguide.org reports that NTL has acquired total control of Virgin.net (it used to own 49%). Users of Virgin.net will probably be aware that virgin.net uses the NTL backbone for their internet access anyway. Article from adslguide.org here:…

Cheap Broadband - V21 £16.99 for 512k unlimited
Hi Looking for ADSL for a friend in London. Cable is not available nor is Homechoice, so its down to ADSL. I don't like the services with limits on them plus he wants to play online games and I can't see the point in Wanadoo cutting him off after 1.5 hours etc. Although I do know that these limits are probably not…

Need some basic advice about broadband allowances.
OK, I probably sound a real dumb0 to a lot of people here, but I know nothing about broadband. If I were to sign up for a capped service, does this mean you are limited to the actual amount of time you could spend on the internet, surfing in general? I'm not sure if just general surfing contributes to your monthly…

Tesco Broadband-HELP!!
I received an e-mail to say my Tesco Broadband was activated on Tuesday but I can't get connected. The modem they sent does not seem to receive an ADSL signal as the right hand light flashes(whether it is connected to the phone socket or not). I tried a Netgear DG834G router/Modem and this showed that there was an ADSL…
