SSP
Hi, I’ve been off sick from work since mid April, I’ve been on full pay and my manager said I get SSP too. I’ve looked back at my payslips and I’ve only got 1 payment of SSP for £100.08 in last months wages. This is not what I understood I would get?

Council Tax discount at risk?
I'm just coming to terms with knowing I wont be receiving the Winter Fuel Allowance this year. There now appear to be murmurings that the 25% discount for single Council Tax payers may be in jeopardy. Worrying.

High Interest Child Benefit charge
Over last 10 years, husbands salary has fluctuated between £48k and £60k, therefore we have submitted a self assessment each year and paid back either part or all of the Child Benefit. It’s a drag, and I always worry that I’ll make a mistake but so far, so good. Last year I stopped claiming before April and glad I did as…

Universal credit, disability and cash gift
A disabled relative on universal credit recently inherited a house. The house is unsuitable for her to live in because of her disability and a more suitable one would cost approximately 40-80K more. Would she be able to accept this as a cash gift as it would only be used to buy a suitable home , nothing else?

Receiving Inheritance whilst on Universal Credit
I am likely to receive around £20K inheritance next year. This will take me over the £16K threshold for savings, although I am confused with advise on this. Some places I read if inheritance is over £16K the UC case is closed and in other cases it relates to capital totalling £16K + means the UC case is closed. Issue is, I…

Can I lose my ADP (or lower the length of award) by asking for a MR?
Many years I was on DLA then PIP and now it's ADP (I'm in Scotland). And over the years, every time I have had to go to tribunal. A while back, my PIP changed to ADP. Then in December or Janurary of this year, I was told my award was away to run out and I was sent forms to fill in by the end of Feburary. CA helped me. Last…

UC overpayment
Hi all, hoping someone can advise. i received a letter from DWP saying they had overpaid my UC benefit by almost £6000. This was due to them not attaching my student loan info back in Aug 23 when I uploaded (and they confirmed receipt of) all my supporting documents. I had no way of knowing they hadn’t done this or I would…

Council Tax reduction - Possible backdating.
We initially lost entitlement in September 2021 after I started working. We queried this at the time and due to the total income of my wages and our universal credit, the council deemed that we did not qualify for any reduction. We left it at this as they provided the income bandings to show our income was indeed above the…

Will my Universal credit be affected if I rent out granny annex?
I’m currently in a rented property that I plan to buy from my landlady, there is a separate granny annex with separate council tax and separate bills for. As it was used for rent also. But with the house sale, the annex is included in the sale. I’m thinking of renting the annex to my sibling, so that it isn’t wasted. And…

My mum applied for me roughly a year ago, and I was awarded PIP. I moved in October last year, so I'm worried they may have sent letters to the old address? THANK YOU :)
