I have a maximum budget of £400, I don't know enough about laptops to know exactly what I am looking at or how reliable the brands are. XPS 15 to Onkyo HTS3405 surround sound
Could anyone tell me what lead would be necessary to get 5.1 through my new Onkyo HTS3405 SS from my laptop (Dell XPS15). Would it work just through a HDMI connection, or do I need to connect the 'S/PDIF' lead to the system too. If, so what the hell is the S/PDIF lead? I've tried an optical but it doesn't fit. Help would…

Dell dead pixel policy
My boyfriend ordered a PC from Dell last week. The monitor arrived yesterday (minus a power cable). We set it up using the power cable we already had and there is a few dead pixels right in the centre of the screen. Solar trickle chargers
Has anybody any practical experience with these for keeping a boat (or other) battery charged up during the normal boating season. The battery is a standard car type and is mostly only used to start the diesel engine. There would be no load from any boat electrics as a cut-out switch is used. I'm wondering if one rated at…

Freeview tuner needs replacing
I kept my old set top box when OnDigital went bust, and it has always worked quite well, giving me loads of extra (mostly rubbish) channels, and I can retune it every so often.
