Stupid question
I know this is a really basic question But what is the advantage of a balance transfer as opposed to opening a new credit card when you have got a credit card nearing the end of its 0% period

UK's LOB days finally over...
No, not you, stoopid, the UK government. http://politics.guardian.co.uk/economics/story/0,,1979753,00.html A 61 year loan at 2 percent... not bad!

Egg Card Anniversary Offer
I got my Egg card in January 2005, last year they did a 0% anniversary offer, but haven't seen anything about them repeating the offer. Has anyone seen anything about this, or received a second anniversary offer?

Egg - Next move?
Dear All, I am coming to the end of my 6 month interest free on purchases deal with my Egg Card (not Egg Money), which I have been using as a slow stooze method. I have just over £6k amassed on it. The six month period ends at the beginning of Feb. I also have a Sainsbury's Advantage card on its way - don't know what the…

hsbc follow on deals / cancellation
has anybody ever had a decent follow on deal from hsbc. I had the 9 month 0% from January, and have held onto the card. Everytime I call re bt deals, I get either a 3 - 4 % +fee offer, or "no offers". My feeling is I'll hold off calling to cancel until early Jan, in case they have any New Year special, offers. Any thoughts?

Withdrew cash by mistake - consequences?
I'm using my M&S card (0% on purchases for 12 months) & just paying the minimum every month. Unfortunately I withdrew £50 from an ATM by mistake (M&S card is same colour as my First Direct current account card!). Because of the order in which payments are allocated, I will have to clear the whole outstanding balance…

Tax credits: Don't stooz for the chancellor's benefit
A quick search of the forums hasn't thrown up this particular point. Forgive me if it has been discussed before. I've been doing a bit of research lately into Gordon Brown's ridiculously complex Tax Credit system. I might do a PhD on the subject - you need one to understand it. However the single most important point that…

what is stoozing

Double Stoozing!
I have no debts - except my mortgage - and I feel it's a good idea to have 6 months salary as savings stored in an NS ISA and the rest in an ICESAVE account. I have my M&S card and stooze using this method. I'm now applying for a card to stooze using the card trick method, but should I stop there or apply for more cards to…

Are RBS fairly strict?
I'm planning to apply for the Ulster Bank credit card early next year, as I want to do a fee free balance transfer and stooze. I understand that Ulster Bank are part of the RBS group. I've had a Natwest Credit Card (also RBS I believe) for years, and have recently cancelled it, so I'm worried that this might cause a…

Best Balance Transfer Deal?
Not sure about what to do here. Here goes. I have £2400 on my current credit card, I want to transfer it to a new card with one of these 0% rates for 12 months if possible,I saw one for 3.9% until 2010 too which would suit, any ideas on the one to go for? How do I do this, I am on incapacity benefit and total income is…

First Direct (for existing customers)?
It may just be the set up of their site but when you click through to the 'balance transfer' screen you get the following 'spiel': This appears to mix up the features of a 'new card' offer (a rate of 2.9% for 6 months) with the general provision of a fee. If an existing customer could get the same offer - but with a fee -…

How much have you made ?
Hi, I'm new to this, I've been told I should look into stoozing. So I'm just wondring if it's worthwhile. How much have you borrowed, and how much have you made in the time ?

LLoyds Platinum follow on 0% deal (no fee)
Lloyds have offered me a nice 0%, no fee deal with a 2% min payment My last 0% ended in august and at the time there was 'no way they could waive the fee'. So might be worth you calling to if you have one of these cards back from when they were good (about one year ago) Can I still take this through Egg Money, and any tips…

First stoozing mistake
Well I finally made a mistake - fortunately it didn't cost anything. I duly cancelled my egg card a while ago. A few weeks ago applied for an mbna card with £50,000 limit with BT to egg money. It was refused - think for possibly 3 reasons. Pretty obvious it was for stoozing and they weren't going to make anything beyond…
