Hi guys,

For those who applied for this card, how long did you wait to get any response? I applied last 20/11/2006 and received email confimation that they have received my application.

Should I leave it a few more days or give them a call?

cheers

You can be patient,or you can ring them and take the view that you are very fraud and theft aware and are calling to confirm they have sent/have not sent the card.
Customer services are generally pleased with this tone of enquiry and I have always been successful using it rather than being a forceful complainer.
    Good luck.

Quite right. Everything that's suggested on this site means delays because we all go for it! :rotfl: Call them!

I applied on the 04/11. After getting knocked back, I made a successful appeal and today got my BT to EGG.

    Hi guys,

I rang CS today and inquired what happened to my application made on the 20/11/06? The CS guy told me that he couldn't find it in their system and advise me to make another application by phone in spite telling them that I have an email confirmation that my application was received.

I was also assured that their was no credit check made on my file on my online application as they could not locate in their system.

I did go ahead with the application over the phone but was told that my application was unsuccessful. I was very surprised as I felt that I am managing my finances and my cards well.

My last application was September for PO card which was approved. Currently my other cards are Amex Platinum, Egg Money and Virgin. I just recently closed my Barclaycard and HSBC. My OH has Natwest, Virgin and recently N&P.

I would definitely make an appeal once I got their letter.
Will any of you guys give me some tips for a successful appeal letter?

    Any replies greatly appreciated.

I sent evidence of salary and evidence of savings, mortgage, house value and current account.
I explained that though I have card debts, I balance this with savings and that I don't like to keep all eggs, positive or negative, in one basket.
Seemed to work. Yorkshire Boy gave me the motivation to appeal thought so maybe he can further enlighten.

I am still waiting for S&S letter. Did you send original documents or will they accept scanned documents? With regards to savings what sort of document you will send if most of my savings are internet based therefore no hard copies except printed ones with no names?

Suspect you will now be hit by their new 2% fee max £100 if your appeal succeeds.

I sent a mix of originals and internet print-offs by recorded delivery.
They've promised to return them all but I haven't had them back yet.
