Does anyone know if you can do this? I want to pay my mortgage each month and collect the air miles/ clubcard points etc and pay the full balance of the card each month.
so in theroey you could get up to 4% (in club card points) back each month.
any one doing this already?
Cheers

I don't think the mortgage lender will allow it on the basis that you cannot pay for a debt with a card that puts you in debt.
Something to do with responsible lending and all that. I've had the thought too and enquired, but they just will not accept a credit card as a form of payment. I guess you could in theory run up a £20k bill on your visa paying off your mortgage and then tell Visa you've no money. You can't pay off store account cards either in this manner.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -
i tried too - "you can't use credit to pay off credit" I was told0

Only if you're in arrears according to another recent thread on this subject. So if you're up to date it's a no no, if you're in trouble, they are happy for you to transfer the bad debt from the mortgage to a credit card0

I did BTs to credit cards from my mortgage. Only really of benefit is from a 0% Stooze POV because BTs don't normally attract cashback/bonus points etc.Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0
