Storing money whilst we wait for home improvements to start
I've just changed mortgage deals and this week should be receiving additional funds which will be used for a house extension. This isn't due to start until around March or April next year. Is there anywhere I can stick the funds other than in my bank account so that it will accrue some interest? It obviously needs to be…

Evergrande. Here's hoping CCP will step in.
I normally look at Chinese businesses and think, yes, it is a good business. I hope that the boss doesn't talk about politics or upset CCP in such a way that CCP steps in to educate the boss. With Evergrande, I am actually hoping that CCP will step in and pick up the pieces otherwise I can see waves spreading around the…

Include small/midcaps in Japan index fund?
I am finally calling it a day with Lindsell Train Japanese and switching to a Japan index fund. The question is whether to go for Fidelity, which includes about 6.3% in small/midcaps by Morningstar stock style tables, or HSBC (or iShares) which is about 16.5% small/midcaps. I was going to choose the latter to get the…

Not sure if I'll see 2 50 uk pounds returned at some point, though have gone ahead with litecoin and Ethereum dabble. Couldn't wait to try PayPal Crypto, and watch both drop in front of my eyes yesterday evening. Plan going forward is to build small deposits, to 2.5k per Ethereum purchase.

Unit Trusts Pricing
I hope someone can confirm my understanding that unit trust pricing is directly based on the share value of its portfolio e.g. when the value of an individual stock it holds goes up the value of the unit trust goes up according to its weighted holding. If this is correct then do they buy and sell individual shares on a…

Has anyone taken it? I saw it at the bottom of the 'Updated my details' section for the first time today. Does it show for everyone or does it depend on conditions like size of portfolio and length of being a customer? Does a…

How is your platform reflecting Daimler shares?
AJ Bell has changed the name of holdings to reflect they are 'provisional shares' and the value is showing as 0. I was expecting to have the sell/trade button disabled for these so was surprised to see the value as zero. Out of interest how are other platforms showing?
