Hello. I have been buying stock on the revolut app in US dollars. When I come to sell these, will I have to pay tax on the capital gains? Is there a way once I sell I can put the money once exchanged back to GBP into an isa? I am a newbie to buying stocks but I want to do everything correctly and quite enjoying the…

Probate required to get my deceased husband's premium bond money
When someone dies, even leaving a will, NSandI will not pay out if the amount in premium bonds is over £5000 until grant of probate has been given. This can cost at least £700+ I have made inquiries at bank and building society and their amounts requiring probate is well in excess of £5000.

50% premium bonds/50% s+s isa.
I've been debating for a while whether to leave my p/b where they are (not the only one either from what I gather) or draw it out and put it in a s+s isa. I couldn't decide. so what I've done is I drew out half and put it in a high income fund isa. so now at this moment they are both level. It'll be interesting to see over…

Hargreaves Lansdown for day trade share dealing - Anyone use them?
Hi, Just trying out the H&L web portal for *day trade* share
dealing & I've noticed two fairly large 'issues'. 1. The 'real time' price charting actually isn't ... real
time. It's delayed by 15 minutes at least on the charting even with real time
enabled. The displayed buy\sell price might be, but the charting isn't.…

Is there a reason to keep paper share certificates? and is it easy to change platform with them?
I was helping a relative setup an online account at Equiniti for some shares they have had for a long time just as paper share certificates. While speaking with someone on the platform to help setup the account, I was told that keeping the paper certificates makes it easier to change share platform. I haven't come across…

Can someone explain top slicing?
We have just received a letter regarding one of my late mother-in-laws investment policies. It states that due to the size of the gain there may be tax due. They say this can potentially be overcome by “top slicing” but not sure how this works. MIL only had state pension as income, had never worked, and with no investments…
