Do ythey accept electronic transfers in that are sent by Faster Payments? Can transfers out be sent by Faster Payments? And if yes, do they use a 3rd party bank for this and if so what are the timescales?

are we expecting the pound to drop further?
any ideas? I get paid in dollars. I was earning 53p to every dollar and now it is 82p ( give or take what the bank decides to give) I also have a few investments in American markets too so they have performed well is it possible the pound could reach parity with the dollar?

IHG offer to sell
I've held IHG shares for what must be over 10 years now, purchased through a SAYE scheme when I worked there. It's a relatively small amount - about £1k worth at current prices. Today I've received a letter from Equiniti offering a buy more / sell / donate to charity service. It's rather out of the blue - I can't remember…

Nationwide Regular Savings - Ending? - What's happened?
Both my partner and I have just received a letter from Nationwide stating that as per their last letter (which neither of us received) the Regular Saving account is due to become an Instant Access Saver. Not only that, but they said the interest rate will drop from 1.75% to 0.25%. Our last correspondence states the…

Best self investment platform
Hi currently with Charles Stanley direct for me investments but they don't seem particularly good for buying individual shares (no stop loss option which is a pain) Starting to build up a reasonable sum (about 18k) so might want to start diversifying away from funds to try my hand at picking a few shares in assuming I…

Where to put 50k for 6-12 months?
Shortly coming in to 50k but will need to gradually draw on it after after 6 months if hubby doesn't find a job. Any suggestions what/ where to put it to get maximum growth, be it saving acct interest or something else? ISAs are already maxed out, and I'd rather not split it up into too many different accounts/ schemes as…

Do these sorts of funds/products exist?

Hi. I want to start investing and want to drip feed monthly. Where is a good place to start researching platform options please. I am looking at £3-500 per month for the next 2 years and then need to reassess the monthly amount. Is this viable? I may not be able to use an ISA as I might not be resident in the UK for a…

Investing is just a game
Once you realise investing is just a game, and that there are no experts, just those who have realised this fact then you can get on with your life, invest in trackers and ignore all that conflicting expensive advice. Where's my evidence? If all these financial experts where any good surely they would be keeping this to…

There are no poor people
There are only people who live beyond their means. No one is poor in the U.K. If you spend more than your income every month you will be poor and in debt. I think Mr Micawber said that! Why do people spend more than they earn? Because credit is cheap? Actually credit is really expensive because it builds up exponentially…

NS&I income bonds
In these days of endless rate-chasing, I'm surprised not to have come across NS&I income bonds before. 1%; unlimited protection; instant access; online management Only downside seems to be the use of BACS rather than Faster Payments. and minimum £500 withdrawal if that's an issue.

Approx 35k savings - what would you do?
Hi, I'm after some opinions/advice on what to do with around 35k savings. My partner and I have around £35,000 between us. We are both in jobs which cover our current bills/mortgage. The £35,000 is currently in various bank accounts earning as much interest as possible like many people on here do (Santander/BOS/Tesco etc).…
