Financial Advisor fined £135,000 for mis-selling!
A FA has been ordered to pay a customer £135,000 compensation for mis-selling an inappropriate equity release mortgage by the FOS. Even tho' it was shown to be mis-selling the FA still tried to wriggle out of the verdict by only paying £50,000 compensation! The FOS stepped in and ensured the FA paid the full amount. I find…

What to do?
Hi I am currently 23 & living at home. I earn quite a small amount, but I don't have many outgoings and as of now my income is adequate for my current lifestyle. Over the years I have always been a saver however, and therefore have around £6/7000 sitting doing not a great deal...which I have decided seems a waste!…

I did 16k of profit last year, and have since acquired another business and am forecasting 22k this year. I have about 20k…

I can provide more detailed information if required to get the best answer but I'll try to keep it simple for now. I'm currently renting chiefly because I haven't been able to afford a deposit. I'm…

Portfolio analysis
Hi, I track my pension investment fund choices through the Trustnet (free) tools. This gives me the basics of risk analysis and regional profiling. Is it worth investing in gold?
Hello everyone, I have posted on here a few times about where to save my money (and to get a decent return) but I'm still none-the-wiser about what to invest it in. I was chatting to a friend and they suggested investing in gold. Is this a worthy place to stick my money? Now, bear in mind that I only have less than £5k to…

Tax on Savings Interest + Income
What happens if your pension income is say £8000, and the interest from your savings is say, either (a) £6000, or (b) £9000 ? In case (a), does it matter that the total savings interest is greater than £5000, if the total of income+ savings is less than £15600 (ie in this case £14000).
