Choices at 33
Hi, I have created this ID specifically for this board as my long-standing username identifies me and I'd rather keep this private. With the start of the new ISA year, I am asking myself questions about how to approach savings this year. I am 33, a basic rate taxpayer, paying into an LGPS pension (10yrs so far). I…

On-line share dealing, with DRIP
Up to now, all our share dealing has been through a broker. Equally, where possible, dividends are taken as shares rather than cash. We are now looking at doing share dealing on-line. However, we still want the flexibility of DRIP. I have only found Motley Fool who offers this, so far. Can anyone recommend any other…

III (interactive investor) are at it again...!
Does anyone remember 12 months ago when III started charging some kind of inactivity fee on dormant accounts? Many people had such accounts but had either never used them or had used them but no longer used them. We had a round of people being debited inactivity fees when they didnt really have to pay it. At the time,i too…

Another ISA question - Confused
I have a couple of ISA's with NatWest one which pays better interest then the other and it is this one I add my allowance to every year. My question is, am I better off to open a new ISA every tax year or just keep adding to the ones I already have? Thanks, the more I read the more confused I seem to be getting.

ISA question - 'has to be your money'
Does anybody know exactly what this condition means in practice ('has to be your money')? Has it got to be earned by that individual? What if in addition to me investing £5000 in my existing ISA, I wanted to give my wife £5000 to invest in an ISA already in her name? Is this 'cheating' on the condition set out in the…

Is this the correct way to handle transferrals between bank accounts?
Hi I want to open a Nationwide flex direct current account which pays 5% up to £2500 as long as you pay in £1000 a month into the account. I don't have that type of income a month so I was aware of the solution of transferring money between two accounts to make up for that £1000. E.g. flex direct pays out £1000 a month…

Transfers in/minimum deposit
I think I just about have my head round ISA's now, except for one thing. If I open a new ISA, and am transferring from an existing ISA, does my transferred amount count as the minimum deposit, or does that have to be additional?

Bed & ISA and IFA Fees?
Hi all, If you've invested money into funds via an IFA, paying them an initial fee and servicing fee, and wished to "bed and ISA" some of the funds (i.e. convert units held in a fund that weren't in an ISA to units in the same fund that were), would this normally be covered by the servicing fee, or would you normally be…
