YBS Regular Saver 1 and 2?
Hi Can you have a YBS Regular Saver Issue 1 and 2 account and get the bonus on both? The conditions for the bonus payment on the Regular Saver 2 says "You are the main account holder on no more than 1 Regular Saver account." So does that mean it's a no go? Thanks

10k to invest..... But where?
Hi, We have just been lucky enough to come into 30k from my Grans Will. We have just put this years allowance into our Isa's and plan to do the same again next month. But that leaves us with around 10k to invest. What do people recommend? We don't want to lock it away, as may need it later in the year, or early next year..…

Corporate Bonds - Good investment or go to equity?
Hello, I'm jumping out of cash Isas into Stocks and Shares. I've got a small sum (£2000) in which to drop into a fund - Question is - which one? Corporate bonds have traditionally been 'safe' but are they overheated? Are defensive shares now overheated as well? My current portfolio (minus cash isas) is 100% equity trackers…

Advice sought on investing my recently-bereaved mother's £100K
Firstly, many thanks for reading my thread. I just wanted to seek some advice from those on the MSE Forum as to the most prudent way of investing about £100K. The situation is that my 75-y-o mother's husband (my father) passed away a short while ago and yesterday I managed to finally complete the sale of their Spanish…

Launch new investment or find another solution?
Hi Hoping someone can help me out with a little advice. Here's the situation I'm in. 1. I have a £145,000 mortgage with Santander, which has 15 years left and is interest only. 2. Some years ago I cashed in my endowment policy for the mortgage, as I was unable to work for some time due to having CFS/ME and needed income in…

Santander agm - a farce?
Santander have gone to great lengths this year to entice ordinary small shareholders to cast their votes on 16 individual points. If we vote they are offering a payment to charity and the chance of winning a number of different prizes in a draw for only those whom vote. That sounds great except I don't think most voters…

Renewing NS&I Saving Certificate
Hello everyone, My saving cert is due for renewal next month. I'm thinking that there is no real advantage (in terms of investment return) to renew for 5 years instead of 3 or even the other way round since there is no guarantee that the RPI will be up or down at the end of either term. Would your thinking be the same or…

Short term savings
Hi there money savers! I've sold my flat (changes hands on Friday) and there's going to be a gap between buying and selling. The gap would be about 2 months. Is it worth putting the £30k cash gained from the sale into a short term savings account? I've not had any experience with this type of account and wondered how it…

TD Waterhouse - USELESS ADMIN
I have a bespoke SIPP which I asked to open a dealing account with TD Waterhouse. It took TDW several months to open the account. Now, every time I ask my SIPP provider to transfer funds from the SIPP bank account to TDW, TDW either lose the funds in a holding account or send them back to the SIPP bank account, apparently…
